During this session, the National Assembly proceeded with the election, approval, and appointment of personnel to leadership positions in state agencies; reviewed and discussed reports on socio-economic issues; and decided on several other important matters.

At the first session of the 15th National Assembly, Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue was re-elected as Chairman of the National Assembly. The swearing-in ceremony took place immediately after the results were announced on the afternoon of July 20th.

*SOn the morning of July 20th, to commemorate the 74th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27th, 1947 - July 27th, 2021), a delegation from the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, led by...Comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party CommitteeHe led the procession to lay flowers and offer incense at the Vietnam-Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery and visited and presented gifts to several families receiving preferential treatment in Anh Son district.

*Cstill atIn La Ngan and Luu Tien villages, Chieu Luu commune (Ky Son district), the local people are facing many difficulties.During the Covid-19 pandemic, in just three days, the border district of Ky Son recorded 6 cases of infection with 91 F1 contacts and 211 F2 contacts. The Ky Son district government is making every effort to control the epidemic. The poor people here are in dire need of community support.

*CIn Lach Quen fishing port, Quynh Luu district, dozens of large fishing boats dock daily these days, creating a bustling scene of buying and selling seafood. Fishermen mainly catch squid, mackerel, and scad during this period. While the catch volume isn't as high as in previous periods, some seafood items are of high value.

*SOn July 20th, the People's Court of Nghe An province opened a first-instance criminal trial to hear the case against defendant Nguyen Van Lam, born on July 25th, 1970; originally from Nam Dan district; residing in Vinh Yen ward, Dong Vinh commune (Vinh City). Lam was tried for the crime of "Making, possessing, distributing or disseminating information and documents aimed at opposing the Socialist Republic of Vietnam," as stipulated in Article 117 of the Penal Code.
