*Price rgreen color drops sharplyThis has caused numerous difficulties for many farmers in the largest vegetable-growing area of Vinh City. With no traders coming to buy their produce, and unable to sell it, they are forced to dump it in their fields.

The Hung Dong commune area in Vinh City is the largest planned area for specialized vegetable cultivation in the city. Here, the hamlets of Vinh Xuan, Long Hoa, and My Hau have a large concentration of vegetable growers, with a total area of over 40 hectares. Vinh Xuan hamlet has the largest area, with over 20 hectares dedicated to various types of vegetables.

Ms. Tran Thi Bac, from Vinh Xuan hamlet, shared: Her family cultivates over 2 acres of vegetables. Since the floods in October 2020, vegetable prices have plummeted, resulting in no income from production. Especially in recent months, vegetable prices have dropped continuously; at times, a bunch of cabbage sold for less than 1,000 dong. If they bothered to harvest and sell it, it would be a waste of time, and nobody would buy it anyway. Therefore, they had to leave the cabbage to flower and then harvest and discard it.
