Nghe An: Highlights of April 22nd

(Baonghean.vn) - The Prime Minister met with foreign investors; the leaders of Dong Nai province offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and provided financial support for the province to build houses for ethnic minorities; the Central-Western Highlands Party Newspaper Conference... were some of the notable events on April 22nd.

*On the morning of April 22nd, the Government held a conference.The Prime Minister meets with foreign investors.Comrade Pham Minh Chinh - Member of the Political Bureau, Prime Minister of the Government - chaired the conference.

Opening the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Vietnam consistently affirms its view that the foreign-invested economy is an important component of the national economy, and is encouraged and facilitated for long-term development, cooperation, and healthy competition with other economic sectors.

At the conference, ministries, departments, localities, and the foreign investment business community jointly assessed the impact of the global and domestic economic situation on investment waves and business production activities; identified opportunities, challenges, and difficulties in order to proactively adapt solutions and policies to overcome obstacles and promptly seize opportunities for investment cooperation in the new situation.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested that ministries, sectors, and localities, based on their functions, duties, powers, spirit, and responsibilities, proactively and promptly resolve any obstacles raised by foreign investors in the quickest, most timely, and most effective manner.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam is creating all conditions to provide a favorable, safe, transparent, and highly competitive environment for foreign investors to confidently invest long-term in Vietnam, with the spirit of "equality, mutual development, mutual benefit, shared responsibility towards society, workers, and the environment; ensuring harmonious interests and shared risks; and continuing to strongly reform administrative procedures."

The delegation was led by Comrade Nguyen Hong Linh, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee.

In a solemn atmosphere, the leaders of Dong Nai and Nghe An provinces respectfully laid flowers and offered incense in commemoration, expressing their profound respect and boundless gratitude for the immense contributions of President Ho Chi Minh.

*Next, the delegation from the Government's Committee for Ethnic Minorities and Dong Nai province worked with the leaders of Nghe An province.Donated 3 billion VND to support house construction.Donations of 1 billion VND were given to impoverished ethnic minority communities to help them recover from natural disasters, storms, and floods.

At the meeting, after listening to the leaders of Nghe An province report on some socio-economic situations, Comrade Hau A Lenh - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Minister and Chairman of the Government's Committee for Ethnic Minorities - expressed his pleasure at the achievements of the province in recent times; including the work of caring for ethnic minorities and people in border areas.

Referring to the support program of Dong Nai province for 8 northern provinces, including Nghe An province, which is coordinated and implemented by the Government's Committee for Ethnic Minorities, Comrade Hau A Lenh respectfully thanked Dong Nai province for its noble gesture towards the ethnic minority people.

Referring to the program to support ethnic minorities that Dong Nai province, in coordination with the Government's Committee for Ethnic Minorities, is implementing in several northern provinces, including Nghe An province, Comrade Nguyen Hong Linh shared that although the gift is not large, it reflects the affection of the Party Committee and people of Dong Nai in sharing the difficulties of the poor ethnic minorities in Nghe An, thereby further strengthening the close and profound bond between the two provinces.

Many opinions from media agencies discussed solutions to improve the effectiveness of propaganda in protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation.

*Starting today (April 22), the Ban Ve Hydropower Reservoir will begin operation.ensure total discharge flowaverage not less than 200 m3To raise the water level of the Lam River, ensuring that pumping stations can pump water into the fields to combat drought and support the 2023 Spring crop production, from April 22nd to April 26th, 2023, the Ban Ve hydroelectric reservoir will increase its daily discharge from 65m³.3/s up to 200m3/S.

According to the water regulation plan outlined above, by the end of April 26th, the water level in the Ban Ve hydropower reservoir will only be around 170m, approximately 13m lower than the minimum water level. This means the company is facing significant difficulties in operating downstream water supply and power generation in the coming period.
