Nghe An: Highlights of July 24th

*TAt the regular meeting held on July 23, the Provincial People's Committee approved the draft Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee onPromote administrative reformNghe An province, 2021-2030 period.

According to the report of the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee, during the period 2011-2020, the provincial departments and levels paid attention to leadership and direction, resulting in significant progress in administrative reform. In recent years, according to the results announced by the Government's Steering Committee for Administrative Reform, the province's administrative reform index has improved its ranking year by year.

The Provincial People's Committee aims to achieve the following goals by 2025: the Public Administration Reform Index (PAR index), the Public Administration and Governance Effectiveness Index (PAPI), and the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) within the top 15; and the Information and Communication Technology Readiness Index (ICT-index) within the top 10 provinces and cities nationwide. The goal for the 2026-2030 period is to further improve the rankings of these indices compared to 2025.

At the Vietnam-Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery, Comrade Le Duc Cuong and members of the delegation offered incense and flowers at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Church and the Monument to the Heroes and Martyrs. The Vietnam-Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery is the resting place of nearly 11,000 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who fought and sacrificed their lives in Laos.

*CAlso expressing gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, on the morning of July 24th, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union, the Standing Committee of the Youth Union of the Provincial Agencies Bloc, in coordination with the Youth Union of the Provincial Police, the Youth Union of the Provincial Enterprises Bloc, the Youth Union of the Provincial Border Guard, and the Youth Union of the Provincial Military Command, organized a flower and incense offering ceremony.Commemorating the heroic martyrsThey sacrificed their lives during the Nghe An - Thinh Hoa Soviet Uprising of 1930-1931. The delegation also visited, presented gifts, and organized a tribute program at the Nghe An Mental and Neurological War Invalids Rehabilitation Center (Hamlet 9, Nghi Phong Commune, Nghi Loc District).

*CMeanwhile, in Thanh Chuong district, Thanh Yen commune held an inauguration ceremony.Renovating and upgrading the martyrs' cemetery.The project to renovate and upgrade the martyrs' cemetery in Thanh Yen commune, Thanh Chuong district, has an investment of 1.3 billion VND. The funding comes from the state budget and contributions from officials, Party members, workers, civil servants, philanthropists, and the people.

*CIn preparation for the 2nd session of the 18th Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026, on the morning of July 24th, the delegates elected to the 18th Provincial People's Council in Do Luong and Yen Thanh districts met.There was a meeting with voters.

In Do Luong district, delegate Ngoc Kim Nam - Standing Committee member and Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department - met with voters in Hien Son commune.

*LRegarding the Covid-19 outbreak in the province, on the morning of July 24th, the Nghe An Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported: In the past 12 hours (from 7:00 PM on July 23rd to 7:00 AM on July 24th), Nghe An recorded...Four new cases have tested positive for Covid-19.

*TAt 13:45 on July 24th, the Ban Ang Hydropower Plant in Tuong Duong district...Release floodwaters at a flow rate of 500 - 1,000 m³.³/S.

According to information from Nam Mo and Nam Non Hydropower Joint Stock Company, at 9:45 AM on July 24th, the water level at Ban Ang Hydropower Reservoir in Xa Luong commune, Tuong Duong district, increased by 400 meters.³/s, and potentially increasing to 500-1,000 m³/s within the next 4-6 hours.

To ensure the safe operation of the Ban Ang Hydropower Plant reservoir, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue issued Notice No. 113/TB-PCTT regarding the operation and water regulation of the Ban Ang Hydropower Plant reservoir in Xa Luong commune, Tuong Duong district.

*LRegarding the heavy rains in recent days, on the morning of July 24th, several mountainous districts in Nghe An province experienced a similar situation.Landslides and flooding have affected many roads.

Rain has caused landslides in several locations in the communes of Muong Long, Ta Ca, and Bao Thang (Ky Son district), damaging many public and residential facilities due to rain and debris.

Meanwhile, in Con Cuong district, heavy rains caused the Khe Moi bridge in Luc Da commune to be submerged, cutting off access.
