Nghe An: Highlights of September 28th

*SOn September 28th, under the chairmanship of Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee held a meeting.September regular meetingThe delegates listened to and commented on the Report on the socio-economic situation and administrative reform work in the first nine months of 2020; and the key tasks and solutions for the last three months of the year.

Accordingly, in the first nine months of the year, despite facing numerous difficulties, especially the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the growth rate of the province's gross regional product (GRDP) is estimated to have increased by 3.44% compared to the same period last year.

Budget revenue for the first nine months of 2020 is estimated at over 11,059 billion VND, reaching 72.7% of the projected target and equaling 98.3% of the same period in 2019.

Assessing the situation in the first nine months of the year, the Provincial Party Secretary acknowledged the efforts and endeavors of the government in managing and leading economic development under the leadership of the Party Committee; especially in the process of managing and implementing tasks without confusion or hesitation; focusing on key priorities; creating unity and concentration.

Therefore, the province's GRDP growth rate is among the above-average in the country; at the same time, social welfare is ensured, and national defense and security are maintained.

Entering the fourth quarter of 2020, in order to maintain the province's development momentum, the Provincial Party Secretary requested that: all levels, sectors, and leaders of agencies and units must thoroughly understand the situation, closely monitor the grassroots, identify difficulties and obstacles, and devise appropriate countermeasures and plans.

The Provincial Party Secretary particularly emphasized the need to continue effectively implementing COVID-19 prevention and control measures proactively, avoiding complacency and negligence; and requested the successful implementation of preparations for the 19th Provincial Party Congress. Specifically, immediately after the Congress, all levels and sectors must promptly implement the tasks outlined in the Congress Resolution, ensuring thoroughness, careful planning, practicality, and a clear focus on key priorities.

*SOn September 28th, the Military Command of Nghe An province organized...Competition for political instructorsIn 2020, the competition involved 42 militia and self-defense force officers, including Party Committee Secretaries and Political Commissars of the Military Commands of communes, wards, and towns, and 32 regular soldiers from the Military Commands of districts, regiments, battalions, and companies in the province.

The competition aims to assess the quality of political instructors and the results of political education work. It also provides an opportunity for instructors to exchange and learn from each other's experiences. Through this competition, the organizing committee will select a team to participate in the Military Region-level competition.

The Deputy Head of the Quỳnh Lưu District Party Committee's Organization Department has been appointed as the Party Secretary of Cầu Giát town.

Accordingly, Comrade Lai The Toan – Member of the Standing Committee, Deputy Head of the Organization Department of the Quynh Luu District Party Committee – has been transferred to work in Cau Giat town, and has been appointed to the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, and the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of Cau Giat town for the term 2020-2025.

*CWhat do investors say about it?quality of school building reinforcementIn Nghe An? Following a series of investigative articles by Nghe An Newspaper on the quality of the school infrastructure improvement program, a representative of the investor, the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects for Civil and Industrial Works of Nghe An Province, stated that the unit immediately assigned an officer to closely monitor the area and expedite the rectification of projects that had been criticized for their quality.

The school infrastructure improvement program in Nghe An province for the period 2017-2020 included 86 projects with a total capital of nearly 270 billion VND, mostly from government bonds. Initially, the projects were planned to be managed by the districts. However, in 2017, the Management Board for Specialized Education and Training Projects was established, under the Nghe An Department of Education and Training. Therefore, the Department of Education and Training authorized this board to act as the representative investor.

However, less than three years after its establishment, this Board had to be dissolved and merged with four other management boards to form the Project Management Board for Civil and Industrial Works of Nghe An Province, managed by the Provincial People's Committee…
