Nghe An: Highlights of November 3rd

*SOn November 3rd, under the chairmanship of Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee held a thematic meeting for November 2020 to hear and give opinions on important draft resolutions.

The Provincial People's Committee has approved the draft Resolution on adjustments.public investment planThe year 2019 extended into 2020, and the 2020 public investment plan is linked to the adjustment of the 2016-2020 medium-term public investment plan; the draft Resolution promulgating regulations on principles, criteria, and allocation norms for public investment capital from the state budget for the 2021-2025 period in Nghe An province; the Provincial People's Committee also approved the draft Resolution stipulating some specific mechanisms and policies to support the socio-economic development of Nam Dan district in the 2021-2025 period.

*CAlso on the morning of November 3rd, the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee, and the Nghe An Journalists Association held the opening ceremony for the training course.Journalism trainingThe training course focused on the topic of Party building in 2020. Participants shared experiences in their work, acquired additional skills and expertise in writing, presentation, and selecting specialized topics, and addressed any difficulties related to the topic of Party building.

The training also suggested several topics for participation in the "Golden Hammer and Sickle" journalism award on Party building; and introduced some new models and innovative approaches in Party building organization work within the provincial Party committee.

*Dto help the people of Nghe An provincePromptly address the damage caused by the floods.The Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee provided 150 million VND in cash, 6 tons of rice, 200 boxes of water purification powder, and 3 boats; totaling 330 million VND. On November 3rd, a delegation from the Vietnam Red Cross visited Thanh Xuan commune, Thanh Chuong district, to visit and provide assistance to households severely affected by the recent floods.

*COn the same day, Công Vinh and Thủy Tiên returned to the flood-affected area of ​​Thanh Chương district to organize a celebration.510 gifts were distributed.This support was provided to households in 25 communes and towns of the district. Previously, local authorities had coordinated, reviewed, and provided a complete list of households affected by the floods in these localities. In particular, the tragic case of Mr. Nguyen Duy Diep received 115 million VND in support from the couple Cong Vinh and Thuy Tien and other philanthropists to help him rebuild his chicken farm after the heavy losses caused by the floods.

*Dehelping people quickly stabilize their lives.Following the devastating floods, the 324th Division (Military Region 4) dispatched 250 officers and soldiers to Thanh Chuong district to participate in flood relief efforts. During these days, in this flood-stricken area, the bond between the military and the people is truly strong and enduring.

*TIn other developments, according to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, at 4:00 AM on November 3rd,Typhoon No. 10 has entered the East Sea.The typhoon's center is located at approximately 15.0 degrees North latitude and 115.5 degrees East longitude, about 450km east-southeast of the Hoang Sa (Paracel) Islands. The strongest winds near the center of the typhoon are at level 8 (60-75 km/h), with gusts up to level 10. The radius of strong winds from level 6, with gusts from level 8 and above, is approximately 140km from the typhoon's center.

The forecast for the next 24 hours indicates the storm will move west-southwest at a speed of 10 km/h. By 4:00 AM on November 4th, the storm's center will be located at approximately 14.3 degrees North latitude and 113.2 degrees East longitude, about 290 km south-southeast of the Hoang Sa (Paracel) Islands. The strongest winds near the storm's center will be at force 8-9 (60-90 km/h), with gusts up to force 11.

*SThe Ministry of Education and Training has just announced...Results of the provincial-level excellent student competition for 12th gradersThe 2020-2021 school year saw the participation of over 2,000 students competing in subjects including Mathematics, Literature, English, Russian, French, History, Geography, Biology, Chemistry, Informatics, and Civic Education.

According to the Department's statistics, this year the top scorers in the exam subjects are evenly distributed among schools, with quite a few from district schools. In addition, Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School holds the most top scorers, with winners in Mathematics, English, Literature, French, and Russian. Besides that, Huynh Thuc Khang High School also has two top scorers in Civic Education and Physics.

*NOn November 3rd, Nghe An Online Newspaper published the article "Community camera footage reveals shop owner taking money from customers."

A customer in Thai Hoa town went to a restaurant and left behind a bag containing over 150 million VND. Driven by greed, the restaurant owner hid the customer's money in an attempt to steal it, but he couldn't escape the notice of the community's security cameras.

In 2018, Kim Tan ward (Thai Hoa town) installed a community security camera system using socialized funding. Besides soliciting support from local businesses, each household contributed 200,000 VND to install over 20 cameras on internal ward roads, along with storage equipment and internet access, totaling nearly 130 million VND. Camera footage revealed 7 cases of illegal firework use, and led to the arrest of perpetrators in numerous petty thefts and hit-and-run traffic accidents.
