The election in Nghe An was conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Election Law. The voter turnout rate reached 98.93%, the highest in recent elections, with Quy Chau district and Cua Lo town achieving 100% voter turnout. The elected candidates received a very high percentage of votes, averaging over 80% to over 90%.

Through the elections, voters elected 13 representatives to the 15th National Assembly, 83 representatives to the Provincial People's Councils, 736 representatives to the District People's Councils, and 10,885 representatives to the Commune People's Councils.

The Provincial Election Committee assessed that the election in the province was conducted seriously and rigorously; the atmosphere and public opinion of voters were generally very supportive and confident in this election.

*NOn May 31st, the People's Court of Nghe An province held a first-instance criminal trial.Three defendants are on trial.Vuong Quoc Trong (born 1977), Nguyen Hien Son (born 1989), both residing in Bac Ha ward, Ha Tinh city (Ha Tinh province), and Lo Van Minh (born 1971), residing in Kim Son town, Que Phong district, were charged with "illegally trading narcotics".

The court determined that in this case, the defendants participated in the trafficking of an exceptionally large quantity of drugs (4 kg of methamphetamine). All three defendants had a bad criminal record, therefore, Vuong Quoc Trong, Nguyen Hien Son, and Lo Van Minh were sentenced to death.
