Nghe An: Highlights of April 5th

*NOn April 5th, the National Assembly entered its final week of the 11th session, which is also the last session of the 14th term. The entire four working days were dedicated to personnel matters as the National Assembly continued to finalize a series of state leadership positions.

In the morning, with 468 out of 468 delegates present voting in favor (representing 97.5% of the total National Assembly delegates), the National Assembly passed a Resolution electing the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2016-2021 term.Comrade Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

In the afternoon of the same day, the National Assembly discussed and voted to approve the list, proceeded to elect the Prime Minister by secret ballot, and voted to approve the Resolution electing the Prime Minister.

The vote count results show that,Comrade Pham Minh Chinh- The Politburo member and Head of the Central Organization Department has been elected by the National Assembly to the position of Prime Minister. The resolution on the election was also passed by the National Assembly with 462 out of 466 attending delegates voting in favor (accounting for 96.25% of the total number of National Assembly delegates).

During this working session, the Provincial Party Secretary received citizen Ho Thi Sam, residing in Cong Hoa block, Vinh Tan ward, Vinh City. Ms. Sam reported that leading officials in Hung Nguyen district were covering up for Mr. Ho Van Yeng, a party member affiliated with Branch 3, Hung Tien commune Party Committee (formerly), now Branch 2, Hung Nghia commune Party Committee.

Next, the Provincial Party Secretary received citizen Nguyen Trung Thang, residing in Xuan Dong hamlet, Nghi Duc commune, Vinh City, who complained that the Vinh City People's Committee had issued a decision approving the land allocation plan with land use fees for his family at a price higher than the approved compensation price during the compensation, support, land clearance, and resettlement process for the Vinh - Cua Lo connecting road project (phase 1), the section passing through Nghi Duc commune, Vinh City.

At the Announcement Ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Van Thong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, presented Decision No. 289-QD/TU dated March 20, 2021, of the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, approving the appointment of Comrade Nguyen Thanh Hai - Member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Nghi Loc District People's Committee - as Standing Deputy Secretary of the Nghi Loc District Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

*SOn April 5th, the Provincial People's Committee held an online conference to urgently implement measures.solutions for disease prevention and controlon plants and animals.

According to reports at the conference, Nghe An is one of four provinces in the North Central region, and one of 21 provinces and cities nationwide currently experiencing African swine fever outbreaks. From March 30, 2021 to the present, the disease has occurred in 1,762 households, 386 hamlets, 145 communes, and 19 districts, with a total of 4,794 pigs culled, weighing a total of 295,688 kg.

Currently, there are 106 active outbreaks in 17 districts, cities, and towns in the province that have not yet passed the 21-day quarantine period.

In addition, bovine lumpy skin disease has reappeared, with 85 outbreaks occurring in 17 districts, cities, and towns in a short period. 668 cattle in 481 households were affected; 26 died and were culled, with a total weight of over 3,300 kg, representing a mortality rate of 3.92%.
