Nghe An: Highlights on April 8

*On the morning of April 8, under the chairmanship of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De,Nghe An Provincial People's Committee had a working session with the working delegation of Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee.led by Comrade Nguyen The Giang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

The working session aimed to discuss plans for agricultural and forestry production development in the area, especially experiences in building high-tech forestry zones.

*At the invitation of the Xieng Khouang Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, the delegation of Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor paid a working visit to Laos from April 6 to 9.

The two provinces' trade unions exchanged friendly cooperation.on organizing trade union activities and proposing solutions to continue promoting effective coordination, increasingly tightening the relationship between the Trade Unions of the two provinces of Xieng Khouang - Nghe An. From there, contributing to enhancing the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam - Laos.

At the request of the Xieng Khouang Provincial Trade Union Federation, at the workshop, the Nghe An delegation shared some experiences in Trade Union activities, such as organizing emulation movements among union members and employees; resolving labor disputes and strikes; mobilizing union members, collecting union fees...

*Pursuant to Decision No. 308/QD-TTg dated March 28, 2023 of the Prime Minister, on April 4, 2023, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Document No. 2347/UBND-CNimplement the action planImplement the Foreign Investment Cooperation Strategy for the 2021-2030 period in the area.

According to the above document, the People's Committee of Nghe An province assigned the Department of Planning and Investment to coordinate with the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone and relevant agencies based on the content of Decision 308/QD-TTg to advise the Provincial People's Committee to direct and implement the assigned tasks in the Action Plan to implement the Foreign Investment Cooperation Strategy in the province in a timely and effective manner; at the same time, assigned relevant departments, branches, localities and units to coordinate with the Department of Planning and Investment in the implementation process.

*Morning of April 8,215th Tank Brigade(Armored Corps) held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Brigade's tradition day (April 10, 1973 - April 10, 2023) and received the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal.

The 215th Tank Brigade was established during the fierce and arduous period in the final years of the resistance war against the US to save the country. Immediately after its establishment, the Brigade's two tank battalions quickly went to the South to fight; participated in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign and achieved outstanding feats of arms.

During the war to protect the Fatherland in the Southwestern border and to fulfill international duties to help Cambodia, units of the 215th Tank Brigade participated in 34 battles, contributing to protecting the territorial integrity of the Fatherland and fulfilling international duties.

*Implementing the direction of the People's Committee of Nghe An province in Official Dispatch No. 9369/UBND-CN dated November 25, 2022 on the policy of terminating the operation of the passenger bus station at Vinh Market Bus Station in April 2023, on December 5, 2022, the Department of Transport of Nghe An issued Decision No. 838/QD-SGTVT on terminating the operation of the passenger bus station at Vinh Market Bus Station and Official Dispatch No. 4345/SGTVT-VT dated December 19, 2022 ontransfer of fixed passenger transport routescurrently operating at Vinh market bus station and operating at bus stations in Vinh city and Hung Nguyen district.

*On the morning of April 8, leaders of the Department of Education and Training came tovisit the families of the victimsin the drowning incident at Nghi Thiet beach, Nghi Loc district.

Before that, at around 3:00 p.m. on April 5, because of school break, 7 students invited each other to go to Hoang beach, Nghi Thiet commune to play.

Of these, 4 students were playing on the shore, the remaining group of 3 went into the sea and were swept away by the strong waves. Their bodies have been found and buried according to local customs.
