Nghe An attracts nearly 22,000 billion VND in investment in the first 9 months of the year.
(Baonghean.vn) - Despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Nghe An's investment attraction results in the first nine months of the year showed many positive aspects. Compared to the same period in 2020, the number of investment projects in Nghe An increased by 30.5%, and the total investment increased 4.97 times.
This information was announced by the Party Committee of the People's Committee of Nghe An province on the morning of September 27th at the regular September 2021 meeting of the Provincial Party Standing Committee.
Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation, and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - presided over the meeting. Also present were: Comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives from the Central Organization Department; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; and representatives from several relevant departments and agencies.

As of September 20, 2021, Nghe An province had granted licenses to 77 new projects and adjusted 102 existing projects; the total newly licensed and increased investment capital amounted to over 21,950 billion VND; compared to the same period in 2020, the number of projects increased by 30.5%, and the total investment increased 4.97 times.
Several large-scale projects were newly approved, such as the Everwin Electronic Components Factory in VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park (US$200 million), Hoang Mai 1 Industrial Park (VND 750 billion), the Goertek 2 project for manufacturing electronic products, network equipment and multimedia audio products (US$35 million, equivalent to VND 805 billion), and the adjustment to expand phase 2 of WHA Industrial Park by an additional 354.5 hectares…
In the coming period, Nghe An will continue to focus on supporting investors to accelerate the progress of key projects such as VSIP, WHA, and Hoang Mai I; support businesses in carrying out procedures for approving investment policies for Tho Loc Industrial Park, Hoang Mai 2 Industrial Park, etc.; and closely monitor the implementation of procedures for land allocation, land leasing, compensation support, and site clearance.
As of September 5, 2021, land clearance for projects in the Economic Zones and Industrial Parks has yielded good results. Specifically, the VSIP Nghe An Urban and Service Industrial Park project has completed land compensation and clearance for 549.11 hectares (87.18%); for the WHA Industrial Park Phase 1 project, the area of land cleared and leased to companies for project implementation is 142.12 hectares out of 143.49 hectares, reaching 99.4%.
For the WHA Industrial Park Phase Two project (354.5 hectares), the cadastral mapping work has been largely completed. The Hoang Mai I Industrial Park project has also completed land clearance for 2,368,786.5 m2; and issued land lease decisions in three phases with a total leased area of 2,308,789.3 m2.
In the first nine months of 2021, Nghe An province saw the establishment of 1,321 new businesses, representing 99.16% of the same period last year, with a total registered capital of over 13,523 billion VND; 597 businesses also resumed operations, an increase of 138 businesses compared to the same period in 2020. Authorities at all levels proactively identified difficulties and obstacles faced by businesses in the area to promptly address and resolve them satisfactorily.

To achieve these positive investment attraction results in the first nine months of the year, despite being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, Nghe An proactively carried out foreign affairs and investment promotion activities in accordance with the situation and developments of the pandemic.
The province has focused on directing the development and improvement of mechanisms and policies to enhance the investment environment, such as: submitting to the Provincial People's Council for approval the Resolution on preferential policies and investment support in Nghe An province (Resolution No. 05/2021/NQ-HĐND dated May 13, 2021); developing projects and policies on attracting investment; adjusting and supplementing land price tables in industrial zones in Hoang Mai town and the districts of Dien Chau, Hung Nguyen, and Nghi Loc; successfully organizing an online investment promotion conference with Taiwanese businesses in Nghe An province in May 2021;…
