Nghe An: Import and export tax revenue increases sharply.
(Baonghean.vn) - In the first six months of 2017, import tax revenue reached 58% and export tax revenue reached 63% of the assigned budget revenue target for 2017; a strong increase of 196% and 229% respectively compared to the same period in 2016.
Total budget revenue in the first six months of 2017 reached nearly 685 billion VND, equivalent to 49% of the allocated budget for 2017 (the target budget allocation was 1,400 billion VND) and 173.37% compared to the same period in 2016.
According to the Nghe An Customs Department, from the beginning of the year until now, 153 businesses have participated in customs procedures, including: 7 state-owned enterprises; 135 limited liability companies and joint-stock companies; and 11 enterprises with 100% foreign capital, a decrease of 44 compared to the same period last year (mainly wood import and export businesses). The total number of import and export declarations in the first 6 months of 2017 was 6,207 sets of declarations.

Main export items include: various types of white limestone, marble, building stone, wood flooring, manganese iron ore, wood chips, and clinker. Import items include: machinery and equipment for investment projects, various types of aluminum coils, dairy feed, cold-rolled steel, plastic pellets, electronic components, paper for milk cartons, vegetable oil, beef cattle, and liquefied petroleum gas.
However, environmental protection tax revenue reached only 31%, and excise tax revenue reached 46% compared to the projected budget revenue for 2017.

Mr. Chu Quang Luan, Director of the Nghe An Customs Department, stated: In 2017, the Ministry of Finance and the General Department of Customs assigned the Nghe An Customs Department a revenue target of 960 billion VND from import and export activities, with a target of 1,400 billion VND; the People's Committee of Nghe An province assigned a revenue target of 960 billion VND from import and export activities.
To achieve the state budget revenue target, the Nghe An Customs Department has developed a plan, strengthened contact with and support businesses, and promptly resolved difficulties and obstacles for them; providing timely and effective support to businesses in tax payment.
