Nghe An province received over 9,500 applications for unemployment insurance benefits, a decrease of more than 12% compared to the same period in 2024.
The unemployment insurance situation in Nghe An province during the first six months of 2025 showed many positive developments. The number of applications and benefit decisions decreased compared to the same period last year, indicating a clear recovery of the local labor market.
According to a report by the Nghe An Employment Service Center, in the first six months of 2025, Nghe An province received 9,556 applications for unemployment insurance benefits, a decrease of 12.26% compared to the same period in 2024. This is a positive sign indicating that the local labor market is gradually recovering and stabilizing.
Compared to the national average, Nghe An recorded a lower decrease in the number of unemployment benefit applications. Specifically, nationwide there were 390,548 unemployment benefit applications, a decrease of 15.7% compared to the same period in 2024. However, the number of people granted unemployment benefits decreased more significantly than the national average, with 7,015 people, down 29%, while the national figure was 345,175 people, down 18.1%.

Notably, 80.67% of workers' applications in Nghe An were submitted through the National Public Service Portal, demonstrating a positive shift in the digitization and simplification of administrative procedures.
However, it is noteworthy that in the first half of 2025, Nghe An province recorded no cases requiring vocational training after unemployment, compared to 29 cases in the same period of 2024.
