Nghe An province is organizing the 5th Provincial Reading Culture Ambassador Contest in 2023.
(Baonghean.vn) - The Reading Culture Ambassador Contest is an activity for students in Nghe An province aimed at arousing and spreading a passion for reading among the younger generation.
The People's Committee of Nghe An province has just issued a plan to organize the 5th Nghe An Province Reading Culture Ambassador Contest in 2023 and to summarize the results of the contest's five-year period from 2019 to 2023.
Accordingly, the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest is an activity for students in Nghe An province aimed at arousing and spreading a passion for reading among the younger generation; exchanging and sharing experiences in reading and developing a reading culture, thereby encouraging and promoting the reading movement in schools and communities, forming reading habits and improving reading skills for students, contributing to the development of a reading culture in schools and communities.

Through this competition, we affirm the position, role, and positive values of reading culture in enhancing the information and knowledge access capabilities of Vietnamese people, especially in developing thinking skills, creativity, nurturing character and soul, forming a healthy lifestyle for the younger generation, and promoting a lifelong learning society.

The participants in the competition are students from grades 1 to 12 currently studying at primary, secondary, and high schools in Nghe An province.
Contestants participate in the competition by answering questions according to the instructions in the Regulations of the Nghe An Province Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2023.
According to the Regulations of the Nghe An Province Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2023, contestants answer two questions:
Question 1:Choose one of the two sentences:
ButShare about a favorite book that inspired you to live a positive life, or a book that changed your perspective on life.
- Create a literary work (a story or a poem) with a message that spreads the love of reading, encouraging people to read more.
Question 2:If chosen as a Reading Culture Ambassador, what plans would you have for yourself or your community to encourage your friends and everyone else to read more? (Please state the goals, target beneficiaries, scope of work, and expected results).
The competition awards include: For the overall team category, there is 1 first prize and 2 second prizes; for individual categories, there are 3 first prizes (Primary, Secondary, and High School), 6 second prizes, 9 third prizes, and 15 consolation prizes.
In addition, there are 18 special awards: 3 awards for the best book review; 3 awards for the best creative story promoting reading; 3 awards for the best poem promoting reading; 3 awards for the most impressive illustrations; 3 awards for the most impressive presentations (via video clip); and 3 awards for the most impressive plans/initiatives for developing a reading culture.
The 5th Nghe An Province Reading Culture Ambassador Contest, 2023, was launched in April 2023. The deadline for submitting entries was May 15, 2023.
The closing ceremony, awards presentation, and review of the 5-year competition period (2019-2023) are expected to take place in September 2023 in Vinh City.
