Nghe An organizes communication activities in response to International Day of the Girl Child.
In response to International Day of the Girl Child (October 11th), the Nghe An Department of Health, in coordination with the Hung Nguyen Health Center and the Lam Thanh Commune People's Committee, organized a communication program with the theme "Investing in girls for family happiness and the future of the country," aiming to raise community awareness about equal rights and healthcare for girls.
On the morning of October 9th, at the Lam Thanh Commune People's Committee, the program took place with great enthusiasm, with the participation of over 100 students from Phuc Loi Secondary School, along with teachers, parents, and local health officials.
The program provides an opportunity for students, especially girls, to be equipped with practical knowledge and skills on self-protection, adolescent reproductive health care, and preventing school-related abuse.

With the theme "Investing in Girls for Family Happiness and the Future of the Nation," the program emphasizes the message that investing in girls is not just about supporting an individual, but about creating a solid foundation for each family, community, and nation. Caring for, nurturing, and providing opportunities for their holistic development is essential for a sustainable future for society.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Van Nam – Deputy Director of the Nghe An Department of Health – affirmed: “Girls are the future, they are mothers, teachers, and creative workers in all fields. Investing in them from today is building a foundation for every family to be equal, prosperous, and happy; contributing to building a high-quality workforce, towards sustainable development of the country.”

The program focuses on a range of practical issues such as sex education, adolescent healthcare, child violence and abuse, etc.
Staff from Hung Nguyen Health Center spent time providing direct counseling, answering students' questions about the psychological and physiological changes of puberty, guiding them on self-care skills and how to cope with dangerous situations in life, especially in the school environment.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Le Khanh Quang – Vice Chairman of the Lam Thanh Commune People's Committee – said: “This activity not only helps raise awareness among students and parents about the rights and health of girls, but also signifies sharing and supporting children in difficult circumstances, especially those affected by natural disasters. This is an opportunity for the local government, organizations, and the community to work together to care for, protect, and provide opportunities for the development of the younger generation.”

On this occasion, the organizing committee presented 10 gifts to female students who overcame difficulties, excelled in their studies, and were severely affected by Typhoon No. 10. These meaningful gifts are a timely encouragement, helping them to overcome difficulties, continue to strive in their studies, and nurture their dreams.

Launched by the United Nations in 2011, International Day of the Girl Child (October 11) is an opportunity for the global community to act together, raise awareness about gender equality, and combat discrimination, violence, and abuse against girls.
