Nghe An province awards Certificate of Merit to Prudential for its activities supporting children.
(Baonghean.vn) - Recognizing outstanding achievements in supporting disadvantaged and disabled children in Nghe An province in 2017, on behalf of the provincial leadership, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong presented a Certificate of Commendation to Prudential.
This activity took place within the framework of the 11th APEC Senior Officials Meeting on Disaster Management - a side event of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum in Vinh City, Nghe An province.

On this occasion, Prudential Vietnam donated over 1 billion VND to people and students in provinces recently affected by natural disasters, including Nghe An.
This activity is part of the "Support for Disaster Prevention and Mitigation" project implemented by Prudential Vietnam in collaboration with the General Department of Disaster Prevention and Control (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) and the Central Vietnam Disaster Prevention and Control Fund.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Hoang Van Thang acknowledged the successes of the aforementioned cooperation project, assessing it as a good start for public-private cooperation in the field of disaster risk management.
“We hope Prudential will continue its practical and effective activities in the future, and we also hope that many private sector companies in Vietnam will join these programs, helping the Vietnamese government gradually strengthen management and mitigate natural disaster risks,” Deputy Minister Hoang Van Thang emphasized.

Sharing his thoughts on the gift-giving activity under the "Supporting Disaster Risk Prevention and Mitigation" project, Mr. Steve Clark, General Director of Prudential Vietnam, said: "Understanding the severity of natural disasters in Vietnam and the difficult circumstances faced by people, especially children, in many provinces in Northern and Central Vietnam, our company wants to join hands with the government.""All levels and units involved in disaster prevention and control share the difficulties and losses of the people, while also providing practical support to help the children and families here overcome the damage caused by the natural disaster."

At the ceremony, Prudential Vietnam donated 17 automatic rain gauges to Ha Giang and Yen Bai provinces, worth nearly 700 million VND; and presented 50...One million dong was given to disadvantaged families in Ha Tinh province and 50 million dong to students in Nghe An province. The total amount Prudential provided to the central and northern mountainous provinces in this round was over 1 billion dong.

Recognizing Prudential's outstanding achievements in supporting disadvantaged and disabled children in Nghe An province in 2017, on behalf of the provincial leadership, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong presented a certificate of commendation to Prudential.
The "Disaster Risk Reduction" project, with a total value of approximately 6 billion VND during the 2015-2017 period, directly benefited thousands of people in the provinces of Dien Bien, Yen Bai, Hai Phong, Nghe An, etc., through practical gifts and essential items such as storm prevention maps, life jackets, first aid kits, notebooks, and life vests for students. In each province, Prudential Vietnam has also installed automatic rain gauge stations, helping local authorities improve flood forecasting. |
