Nghe An: Awards presented to units that achieved outstanding results in the fight against drug crimes.
On the morning of February 23rd, the Nghe An Provincial Police held an awards ceremony to honor units that achieved outstanding results in the fight against drug crimes.
Attending the ceremony, the provincial People's Committee representative was Comrade Bui Thanh An, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Representatives from the Provincial Police Department included Major General Dinh Viet Dung, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Director of the Provincial Police Department; members of the Party Committee Standing Committee; Deputy Directors of the Provincial Police Department; and heads of departments within the Provincial Police Department.

Implementing decisively and effectively the directives of the Ministry of Public Security and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on the intensified campaign to combat crime and ensure security and order during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Horse 2026, the Nghe An Provincial Police mobilized maximum forces and resources, and implemented comprehensive measures to ensure good security and order for the people to celebrate the New Year safely and healthily, continuously achieving many outstanding achievements and victories.
Specifically, on February 14, 2026, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, in coordination with the Technical and Operational Department and the police of Kim Bang and Anh Son communes, successfully dismantled a drug trafficking ring that illegally imported drugs from abroad into Vietnam. They arrested Dao Minh Hoang (born in 1981), residing in Bach Mai ward, Hanoi, a key link in the large-scale drug trafficking ring, and seized 22 blocks of heroin.

At the ceremony, Comrade Bui Thanh An, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, awarded 90 million VND to the Special Investigation Team; and Major General Dinh Viet Dung, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Provincial Police, awarded 50 million VND to the four units that participated in the special investigation.
Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Bui Thanh An - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - acknowledged, commended, and highly appreciated the proactive and responsible spirit of the leaders, commanders, and officers and soldiers of the Nghe An Provincial Police; contributing to ensuring security and order during Tet, serving the people to celebrate Tet safely and healthily. Especially noteworthy was the outstanding achievement in dismantling a drug trafficking ring that illegally transported drugs from Laos to Vietnam, seizing 22 blocks of heroin.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee commended the resolute and uncompromising spirit in the fight against crime, the close and effective coordination, and the sharp professional skills of the units; ensuring absolute safety for the officers and soldiers of the special task force and the people.
Regarding the tasks of ensuring security and order in the coming period, Comrade Bui Thanh An - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - requested the Provincial Police to continue to build on the achievements and results obtained; closely follow the directives of the Ministry of Public Security, the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial People's Committee to advise and implement them decisively and effectively, contributing to maintaining political security stability, ensuring social order and safety, and serving the socio-economic development of the locality.
