Nghe An: Awards presented for successful operation to dismantle a major drug trafficking ring.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of November 29th, Mr. Le Quang Huy - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Mr. Nguyen Huu Cau - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Nghe An Provincial Police, along with representatives of the leadership of Tuong Duong district, presented unexpected awards to the officers and soldiers of the Tuong Duong District Police for successfully cracking cases 117M and 217M, which involved the illegal transportation of large quantities of narcotics.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Quang Huy and Director of the Provincial Police Nguyen Huu Cau presented awards to members of the special task force.

Previously, the police in Tuong Duong district arrested three individuals for transporting and selling large quantities of narcotics, including two blocks of heroin weighing 734 grams, 6,000 synthetic drug pills, and 11 grams of heroin.

Also in this case, the police of Tuong Duong district chased away 4 groups and 9 individuals involved in the illegal trafficking of narcotics in the area, dismantled many tents and shacks, and seized 3 homemade mines, 10 homemade guns, and 10 knives and swords of various types.

At the awards ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Huu Cau - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Provincial Police Department - acknowledged and highly appreciated the exceptionally outstanding achievements of the special task force and the entire police force of Tuong Duong district. He also directed that from now until the Lunar New Year, efforts to combat and prevent all types of crime should be further intensified to ensure peace and security for the people.
