Nghe An province launches a nationwide health check-up campaign in 2026.

The campaign is built upon key resolutions of the Politburo and the Government, along with the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee's Action Program on solutions to improve public health. The core objective the province aims for is to ensure that 100% of its residents receive at least one free periodic health check-up or screening in 2026.

Beyond just medical check-ups, the campaign requires that all health data collected after examinations be cataloged, categorized, and integrated into a sustainable management system. This will serve as a crucial database for the health sector to build a "disease map" for the province, thereby enabling the development of timely and effective intervention solutions and reducing the burden of disease on society as a whole.

According to the plan, the communication campaign will be intensified from May 5th, 2026 to May 30th, 2026. In particular, the official launch ceremony of the campaign will take place at 7:00 AM on May 16th, 2026 at the Dien Quang Health Station, Minh Chau Commune, Nghe An Province. The event is expected to be attended by leaders from the Ministry of Health, the Provincial People's Committee, representatives from various departments and agencies, and approximately 500 local residents.

Immediately after the launch ceremony, the examination teams, with professional support from major hospitals such as Nghe An Friendship General Hospital, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, and Nghe An Lung Hospital, will directly carry out general clinical examinations and health consultations for the people.

To ensure the campaign truly reaches all citizens, Nghe An will simultaneously deploy it at 20 key examination points and all commune and ward health stations throughout the province. Mobile examination desks will also be set up in areas with high concentrations of people such as wholesale markets, shopping centers, and supermarkets to reach self-employed workers and small traders.

The campaign's top priority targets are the elderly, war veterans, social welfare beneficiaries, students, and especially those who have not visited a medical facility for examination in the past three years. Youth union members and village health workers will play a core role in implementing the motto "going door to door, checking every household, reaching every individual" to mobilize, advise, and ensure no one is left out.

One of the breakthroughs of the 2026 campaign is the integration of medical examination and treatment with the digital transformation of healthcare. The Department of Health requires medical facilities to upload data immediately after each examination to the Vietnam Social Security's receiving portal to enrich electronic health records on the VNeID application.

People participating in the health check-up will be assisted by volunteer youth in installing and activating their electronic health record. This digitization allows people to track their medical history anytime, anywhere, and helps the health sector manage people's health in a continuous and interconnected manner throughout their lives.

This is a large-scale campaign, demonstrating the province's determination to shift its mindset from passive "medical examination and treatment" to proactive "disease prevention" and early disease screening. Funding for the campaign is mobilized from various sources, including the Health Insurance Fund, the state budget, and other legitimate socialized sources.
