Nghe An implements national defense and security tasks for 2019.

Attending the conference, on behalf of Military Region 4 were: Major General Nguyen Sy Hoi – Deputy Commander of Military Region 4; Major General Doan Ngoc Son - Deputy Head of Political Department of Military Region 4.

Representing Nghe An province were: Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Ms. Cao Thi Hien - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; and representatives from the leadership of various departments, agencies, districts, cities, and towns.

In 2018, Nghe An province seriously implemented the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws on national defense and security, creating a peaceful and stable environment for construction and development. The province regularly strengthened the organization and maintained the effective operation of steering committees on national defense and security, such as Steering Committee 68, the Steering Committee for Crime Prevention, and the Steering Committee for Defense Zones.

The nationwide movements to protect the Fatherland have been intensified. Coordination in propaganda, mobilization, and education of the masses to comply with the Party and State's guidelines and policies, laws, especially in special areas, ethnic minority regions, and religious areas, is regularly organized. The work of disseminating laws and educating on national defense and security continues to receive attention and guidance with diverse and rich forms and content.

Semi-professional forces, militia, and self-governing groups performing national defense and security duties are regularly trained to improve their skills and professional expertise. Armed forces are reinforced at the grassroots level to support people in building new rural areas, providing health check-ups, and mitigating the consequences of floods and heavy rains…

Effectively combat various types of crime and reactionary organizations.

Speaking at the conference, Major General Nguyen Sy Hoi – Deputy Commander of Military Region 4, congratulated Nghe An province on its socio-economic and national defense and security achievements in 2018. Major General Nguyen Sy Hoi requested that in 2019, Nghe An continue to effectively implement the resolutions and directives of the Party and State on national defense and security; strengthen the implementation of policies and solutions to maintain and ensure national defense and security in the area, with a focus on ensuring security and order, and preventing marches, demonstrations, and riots as a particularly important and ongoing task for the entire political system.

Nghe An needs to leverage the combined strength of all levels, sectors, and organizations in building a national defense system based on the people's security posture and the people's border defense system; simultaneously, it needs to strengthen the political system at the grassroots level comprehensively, improve the quality of building safe and self-reliant bases ready for combat; promote information and propaganda work, and guide public opinion; and pay attention to effectively implementing social policies and policies for the families of the armed forces.

Responding to the directives from the leaders of Military Region 4, Mr. Le Hong Vinh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, stated: In 2019, Nghe An focused on directing and seriously implementing the Central and Provincial Party Committee's policies on national defense and security, especially the contents of Resolution 28-NQ/TW on the Strategy for National Defense in the new situation, and Directive 46-CT/TW on strengthening the Party's leadership over the work of ensuring security and order in the new situation.

Proactively grasping and forecasting the situation, formulating strategic and effective policies and solutions to comprehensively and thoroughly direct national defense and security tasks; promoting the nationwide movement to protect national security; consolidating the all-people national defense, linked with the people's security posture and all-people border defense; focusing on combating reactionary and subversive organizations; stepping up attacks and crackdowns on crime; improving the effectiveness of foreign affairs and international cooperation...
