Nghe An implements the Law on Personal Data Protection.
The People's Committee of Nghe An province has just issued a plan to implement the Law on Personal Data Protection to raise awareness and responsibility among all levels, sectors, and the people; and to clearly assign tasks, timelines, and coordination mechanisms to ensure the law is implemented synchronously and effectively throughout the province.
On January 16, 2026, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Plan No. 33/KH-UBND on the implementation of the Law on Personal Data Protection in the province. The plan aims to disseminate the basic contents of the Law; specifically define the work content, deadlines, completion progress, and responsibilities of agencies and units in the implementation process.
According to the plan, the Provincial People's Committee requests that departments and agencies including the Provincial Police, Justice, Education and Training, Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nghe An Newspaper and Radio and Television, along with the grassroots information system, organize the dissemination and education of laws on personal data protection, detailed regulations and guidelines for the implementation of the Law.

Based on documents issued by the Ministry of Public Security, the Provincial Police Department, in coordination with relevant departments, agencies, and localities, compiled materials for dissemination, promotion, and thorough understanding, and organized in-depth training and refresher courses on legal knowledge and professional skills in personal data protection for police officers and related officials, in order to ensure the correct implementation of the Law.
The provincial police are also tasked with leading the review of legal documents related to the Law under their state management authority; at the same time, departments, agencies, and localities will review documents within their assigned areas and fields of management. Based on this, they will amend, supplement, replace, repeal, or propose to the competent authority the issuance of new documents to ensure compliance with the Law and its implementing guidelines.

In addition, the Provincial Police Department, in coordination with relevant departments, agencies, and localities, participated in providing feedback on the Government Decree detailing certain provisions of the Law on Personal Data Protection and the Decree on administrative penalties for violations in the field of cybersecurity and personal data protection; and implemented the Prime Minister's decision promulgating the National Program on Personal Data Protection. Simultaneously, they organized inspections of the implementation of the Law and related documents.
The Provincial People's Committee requires that the implementation of the Plan must ensure unified direction and close, regular coordination among departments, agencies, and localities; linking the enforcement of the Law with institutional building, improving information technology infrastructure, and promoting digital transformation.
Heads of agencies, organizations, units, and localities are tasked with proactively organizing the implementation of the plan on schedule, ensuring quality, practicality, and effectiveness; and promptly inspecting, supervising, and resolving difficulties and obstacles in the process of implementing the Law.
