Nghe An: Police dismantle prostitution ring involving students and young female escorts.

(Baonghean.vn) - The prostitutes are tall, attractive women and university/college students in Vinh City. Each time they "serve a client," they are paid 2 million VND, of which they give 30% to the "madam."

On November 29th, the Criminal Police Department (PC45, Nghe An Provincial Police) announced that, in coordination with C45 of the Ministry of Public Security, they had successfully cracked Case 117M, dismantling a prostitution ring involving young women and university and college students in Vinh City.

Earlier, on the evening of November 23, PC45 detectives raided two rooms at the Dat Phu Hotel (Hung Dung Ward, Vinh City) and the Victory Hotel (Vinh City) and caught two couples in the act of prostitution.

The identities of the two prostitutes were revealed as Tran Thi N. (born in 1998, residing in Dien Chau) and Thai Thi Y. (born in 1993, residing in Anh Son district). N. is a first-year student at a local college, having only enrolled three months prior. Y. had a stable job and engaged in prostitution to "increase her income."

At the investigative agency, Tran Thi N. and Thai Thi Y. confessed to participating in a prostitution ring run by Ha Thi Giang (born in 1995, residing in Nam Dan district). The Nghe An Provincial Police Department issued an urgent arrest warrant for Giang to facilitate the investigation.

During questioning at the investigative agency, Ha Thi Giang admitted to directly brokering price negotiations with clients for prostitution services through her phone number and Zalo account. After agreeing on the price and location, Giang notified the prostitutes to come and serve the clients.

The price these girls charged for their services ranged from around 2 million VND, which Giang then split with her at a 30% - 70% ratio.

However, an investigator revealed that the price Giang charged clients for sex was often more than double the amount she told the prostitutes.

Currently, PC45 of the Nghe An Provincial Police is finalizing the case file to prosecute Ha Thi Giang for the crime of "Brokering prostitution". Giang is raising a young child under 36 months old, therefore she is not subject to temporary detention.

The investigating police agency imposed administrative fines of 750,000 VND each on the two customers who purchased sex. Thai Thi Y. and Tran Thi N. were also fined 200,000 VND each for prostitution.
