Nghe An busts drug trafficking ring via social networks

Previously, around the end of August 2025, through the work of grasping the situation, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department discovered that a Facebook social network account named "Tong ba mien" regularly posted advertisements: "Wholesale and retail of weed drugs (Tobaco), Pod chill. Express delivery to Vinh, Hung Nguyen 24/24h and COD delivery to neighboring provinces" so they established a special project to fight and arrest.

In a short time, the Task Force identified that this gang had at least 5 members, all very young, and had escaped from their families. The leader was Nguyen Hong Quan (born 2006), residing in Thanh Dam hamlet, Kim Lien commune, Nghe An province.

The subjects created fake accounts on Facebook to advertise and sell drugs; used the Messenger application as a communication channel; used multiple bank accounts at the same time to receive money transfers for drug purchases; used COD shipping services and shipper services, buses and passenger vans to transport and deliver drugs. Every day, the subjects took turns and divided the area to directly conduct drug sales transactions as shippers. The location where the subjects gathered to organize illegal drug trading activities was house number 137, lane 4, Dao Tan street, Thanh Vinh ward, Nghe An province.

Collecting documents and evidence, and determining that the time to solve the case was ripe, at about 7:00 p.m. on September 16, 2025, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department presided over and coordinated with Thanh Vinh Ward Police to organize a raid on the above house, discovering and arresting Nguyen Hong Quan and his accomplices including Nguyen Quoc Anh (born 2006), residing in Kim Lien Commune; Nguyen Dinh Son (born 2005) and Nguyen Van Luong (born 2006), both residing in Dai Hue Commune, Nghe An Province for the act of illegal drug trafficking. The police seized 2 kg of synthetic drugs in the form of Tobacco grass, 5 mobile phones, 1 electronic scale, and 2 motorbikes.

At the investigation agency, the subjects confessed to their crimes.
