Nghe An authorities dismantled a drug trafficking ring that shipped drugs via social media.
Nghe An police have just dismantled a drug trafficking ring led by teenagers, who used social media to advertise, conduct transactions, and ship goods via COD (cash on delivery) service. The suspects were arrested along with 2kg of synthetic marijuana.
Previously, around the end of August 2025, through intelligence gathering, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department discovered a Facebook account named "Total Three Regions" that regularly posted advertisements: "Wholesale and retail sale of marijuana (Tobaco), Pod Chill. Express shipping in Vinh and Hung Nguyen 24/7 and COD shipping to neighboring provinces." Therefore, a special investigation was launched to combat and arrest the perpetrators.

Within a short time, the Special Investigation Team identified that this gang consisted of at least five individuals, all very young and having left their families' care. The ringleader was Nguyen Hong Quan (born in 2006), residing in Thanh Dam hamlet, Kim Lien commune, Nghe An province.
The suspects created fake accounts on Facebook to advertise and sell drugs; used the Messenger app as a communication channel; used multiple bank accounts simultaneously to receive money transfers for drug transactions; and utilized cash-on-delivery (COD) and courier services, as well as buses and passenger vehicles, to transport and deliver drugs. Daily, the suspects took turns dividing areas to directly conduct drug sales transactions via courier services. The location where the suspects gathered to organize their illegal drug trafficking activities was house number 137, alley 4, Dao Tan Street, Thanh Vinh Ward, Nghe An Province.

After gathering documents and evidence, and determining that the time was ripe for the raid, at approximately 7:00 PM on September 16, 2025, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, in coordination with the Thanh Vinh Ward Police, raided the house and apprehended Nguyen Hong Quan and his accomplices, including Nguyen Quoc Anh (born in 2006), residing in Kim Lien commune; Nguyen Dinh Son (born in 2005) and Nguyen Van Luong (born in 2006), both residing in Dai Hue commune, Nghe An province, for the illegal trafficking of narcotics. The police seized 2 kg of synthetic marijuana (Tobacco), 5 mobile phones, 1 electronic scale, and 2 motorcycles.
At the investigative agency, the suspects confessed to their crimes.
