Nghe An planted 1,676 hectares of coastal forests.

According to the report of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, in the period of 2015 - 2020, Nghe An province has 3 forest protection and development projects including: Forest Protection and Development Project of Quynh Luu Protective Forest Management Board; Forest Protection and Development Project of Nghi Loc Protective Forest Management Board and Forest Protection and Development Project of Dien Chau Forest Protection Department.

Units and localities have deployed and integrated State budget sources through annual forest protection and development plans.

Accordingly, from 2015 to 2018, the whole province planted 1,676 hectares of coastal forests, of which in 2018 alone, it is estimated that 167 hectares were planted; 73.0 hectares were cared for and 7,427.08 hectares of coastal forests were protected.

In addition to the achieved results, the implementation of the Project on Protection and Development of Coastal Forests to Respond to Climate Change in the province still has shortcomings and difficulties. That is, the forest protection activities of the Project are only implemented in conjunction with forest protection activities of State-funded projects, so the funding source is not enough, especially for planting mangrove forests.

To continue effectively implementing coastal forest protection and development activities, Nghe An is proposing that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development promptly allocate capital for forest protection and development from climate change sources; increase investment levels for mangrove and coastal forest planting activities in accordance with reality.
