Honoring and spreading the tradition of valuing education.

The 2023-2024 academic year witnessed a comprehensive and remarkable breakthrough in Nghe An's education sector, rising to the top ranks nationwide in both advanced and general education.

In the 2024 High School Graduation Exam, Nghe An ranked 12th out of 63 provinces and cities, an increase of 10 places compared to 2023; at the same time, it ranked 4th nationwide in the 2023-2024 National Excellent Student Competition with 90 students winning awards; and 6 students won regional and international medals.

Furthermore, this is the fifth consecutive year that Nghe An province has had students win high prizes in the "Youth Learning and Following the Ideology, Morality, and Style of Ho Chi Minh" competition.

Speaking at the Commendation Ceremony, expressing heartfelt sentiments and best wishes, Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province - on behalf of the provincial leadership, acknowledged, commended, and warmly congratulated the outstanding achievements that students, teachers, education administrators, and schools have achieved in the past academic year.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee especially commended and praised the students who are children of ethnic minorities and those from remote areas, many of whom come from disadvantaged families. Despite their studiousness, strong will, determination, and high resolve, these students have overcome their circumstances, achieved outstanding results, and become shining examples in their studies; they are truly the most beautiful flowers in the garden of emulation in teaching and learning excellence.

“These achievements not only contribute to bringing glory to Nghe An province's educational heritage, making a significant contribution to the overall achievements of the Education sector in particular and the economic and social development of the province in general, but also demonstrate the great determination of the dedicated and responsible teaching staff; the diligent efforts of the students; the support and care of the parents; and the close and decisive attention and guidance of the provincial Education Department,” Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung stated.

To build upon the achievements, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized several key tasks for the provincial Education and Training sector, Party committees, and governments at all levels, and conveyed his hopes to the students.

First and foremost, the Education and Training sector must strive to fulfill its important responsibilities, becoming both the Education and Training Center of the North Central region and training, fostering, developing, and attracting human resources, especially high-quality human resources, to meet the socio-economic development requirements of the province in the new phase.

"We are effectively implementing the motto: 'Putting students at the center and as the subjects - Teachers as the driving force - Schools as the support - Families as the foundation - Society as the basis'," the head of the People's Committee of Nghe An province stated.

Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung also suggested that teachers should continue to constantly learn, improve their professional skills and expertise, innovate teaching methods, create motivation and inspire students, and pay attention to political and ideological education in schools.

The head of the People's Committee of Nghe An province expressed his wish that the students would continue to study diligently, be confident, and shine brightly to further develop their achievements, thereby affirming the position of the province's education sector and bringing glory to the tradition of studiousness of their homeland, Nghe An.

At the same time, Party committees, government agencies, mass organizations, and the entire society should continue to pay more attention to and care for the cause of education and training, in accordance with the spirit that education and training is a top national priority, a cause of the Party, the State, and the entire people, and that investing in education is investing in development.

Commendation for 163 students.

At the 15th annual Commendation Ceremony, Nghe An province honored 163 students; including 6 students who won regional and international awards, 90 students who won awards in the National Excellent Student Selection Examination, 1 student who won an award in the "Youth Learning and Following the Ideology, Morality, and Style of Ho Chi Minh" competition, and 66 students who achieved high scores in the 2024 High School Graduation Examination.

Compared to last year, 12 more students were commended this year. They received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and cash prizes totaling over 2.6 billion VND.

Specifically, the total prize money for students winning international awards is 381.6 million VND; the total prize money for outstanding students at the national level in 2024 and the "Youth Learning and Following the Ideology, Morality, and Style of Ho Chi Minh" competition in 2023 is 991.8 million VND; and the total prize money for students achieving the highest scores in the 2024 High School Graduation Examination is over 1.235 billion VND.

The awards ceremony was organized to honor and promote exemplary students in Nghe An who excel in their studies and overcome difficulties, and to further expand and promote the movement of excellent teaching throughout the province.
