Nghe An province is developing 12 pilot models for the production and processing of safe agricultural and food products.

Accordingly, in 2020, the Provincial Farmers' Association developed and received approval from the Provincial People's Committee for the project "Propagating, mobilizing, and guiding farmers in the production, business, and consumption of safe agricultural products and food in the period 2020 - 2023".

The project aims to concretize the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws, through the Association's action programs on promoting and encouraging farmers to produce and trade safe agricultural and food products. This will create a strong shift in the awareness and consciousness of farmers throughout the province regarding the production of safe agricultural and food products; improve the skills and knowledge of farmers, especially in the production and processing of agricultural and food products; and foster the habit of consuming safe agricultural and food products among the people.

Promoting the adoption and replication of advanced production models and processes, ensuring food safety; preventing the misuse of pesticides, growth stimulants, chemicals, antibiotics, and banned substances in production, contributing to sustainable agricultural development, and improving people's income and quality of life.

Accordingly, it willTo build 12 model sites for the production and processing of safe agricultural and food products in the period 2021-2023; To build 10 model stores for displaying and introducing safe agricultural and food products to support the linkage and consumption of products from cooperatives, enterprises, craft villages, farms, and households in districts, cities, and towns.

At the launching ceremony, representatives of farmers' associations from 21 districts, cities, and towns signed a commitment to implement the "Farmers producing, trading, and consuming safe agricultural products and food" initiative.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee, in coordination with Nghe An Agricultural Materials Joint Stock Company, presented 30 gifts in kind, each consisting of 50 kg of organic mineral fertilizer, to exemplary farmers in the professional farmers' association producing safe vegetables and fruits in Nghi Long commune; and visited a model of safe vegetable and fruit production in Nghi Long commune, Nghi Loc district.
