Nghe An province has established more than 11,500 grassroots education promotion committees.
On the morning of June 26th, the Executive Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Association for the Promotion of Learning held a conference to review the work of promoting learning and talent, and building a learning society during the first six months of 2026; to implement key tasks for the last six months of the year; and to award scholarships under the "Continuing the Journey to School" program to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have excelled in their studies.

Spreading the lifelong learning movement.
According to the report presented at the conference, in the first six months of 2026, despite many changes in organizational models, the Associations for the Promotion of Learning at all levels in the province effectively maintained activities promoting learning and talent development and building a learning society, contributing to spreading the lifelong learning movement among all segments of the population.
The province currently has nearly 949,667 members of the Association for the Promotion of Learning, accounting for over 27.1% of the population; the organizational system of the association continues to be strengthened in 130 communes and wards with more than 3,852 branches of the Association for the Promotion of Learning and over 11,558 committees for the promotion of learning in agencies, units, clans, and hometown associations.
The work of advising Party committees and authorities on promoting learning and talent has been implemented comprehensively. The Provincial Association for the Promotion of Learning has held a review meeting on the five-year implementation of programs to build learning families, learning clans, learning communities, learning units, and learning citizen models; and continues to disseminate and implement the Party and State's policies on lifelong learning.

The movement to build learning models continues to develop extensively. To date, the entire province has more than 747,000 families achieving the title of "Learning Family," accounting for 85.2%; over 8,070 clans achieving the title of "Learning Clan," reaching 80.5%; more than 3,300 learning communities and nearly 1,900 learning units have been recognized.
For the "Learning Citizen" model, the annual recognition rate continues to increase. Specifically, 43% of rural workers, 51% of factory workers, small-scale industrial workers, and self-employed individuals, along with 62% of officials, civil servants, and businesspeople, have been recognized with the "Learning Citizen" title.
Propaganda efforts have been intensified through press agencies, local radio systems, websites, and educational promotion newsletters. Since the beginning of the year, the Provincial Association for the Promotion of Learning has collaborated on dozens of news articles, reports, and documentaries promoting the movement for encouraging learning and talent development, and building a learning society.

Activities aimed at caring for and supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds continue to receive attention. Through the "Tet Scholarship" movement and programs in coordination with businesses and philanthropists, the Provincial Scholarship Association has awarded scholarships and grants totaling over 1 billion VND to students, university students, and teachers in the province.
Besides the achievements, the conference also frankly pointed out some difficulties such as limited awareness of lifelong learning among some people; uneven application of information technology at the grassroots level; and limited resources for promoting education in some localities...

Mobilizing social resources to care for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
In the last six months of 2026, the Provincial Association for the Promotion of Learning will focus on organizing the 6th Provincial Congress of Delegates for the 2026-2031 term; promoting the "Nghe An Month for the Promotion of Learning" movement; organizing the "Learning Never Ends" program; strengthening the mobilization of resources to build the Scholarship Fund; continuing to expand effective learning models and implementing the lifelong learning movement in the community.
On this occasion, the Provincial Association for the Promotion of Learning, in coordination with sponsoring units, organized the awarding of scholarships under the "Continuing the Journey to School" program for 2026 to 41 students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have overcome difficulties and excelled in their studies. These scholarships not only help alleviate difficulties before the start of the new school year but also provide further motivation for the students to nurture their dreams and continue striving in their studies.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Thai Van Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - acknowledged and praised the achievements of the Associations for the Promotion of Learning at all levels in the past period. He also requested the Provincial Association for the Promotion of Learning to continue to play a core role in building a learning society, promoting digital transformation in its activities, mobilizing social resources to care for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, contributing to raising the intellectual level of the people, developing human resources, and building a more prosperous Nghe An province.
