According to the regulations of the National Criteria for the period 2021-2025, to achieve the model new rural commune, there must be at least one of the most outstanding fields. On that basis, localities in Nghe An choose the most suitable outstanding criteria to strive to implement, creating a colorful picture of a model new rural commune.
Each commune chooses one outstanding criterion.
With the motto “building a new countryside has a starting point, not an ending point”, many localities, after achieving the advanced new countryside standards, immediately started to build a model new countryside. In building a model new countryside, each locality chooses a prominent criterion.
Nam Giang Commune (Nam Dan) is one of the province's basic localities that meets the model new rural standards in 2023, according to the criteria of "exploiting spiritual and cultural values, ecological landscapes associated with the development of spiritual tourism and experiential community tourism".
Mr. Phan Trong Hai - Chairman of Nam Giang Commune People's Committee said: "The highlight of Nam Giang is that the commune has Eo Gio eco-tourism experience - a weekend picnic spot with many interesting and attractive experiences. The new rural appearance of the commune is increasingly spacious, green, clean and beautiful; infrastructure is invested; agricultural production continues to develop, with 3 OCOP products achieving 3 stars at the provincial level. The quality of life of the people is improved. Traditional values are preserved and developed in a civilized and modern direction.
The Eo Gio experiential ecological garden model has been put into operation, bringing practical results. In particular, the new rural construction movement has been enthusiastically responded to and actively participated by the majority of people, becoming a vibrant, strong, widespread mass movement, with a 100% satisfaction rate among the people. Nam Giang is striving to achieve the standards of a smart new rural commune.
Up to now, Yen Thanh district has had 4 communes meeting the model new rural standards: Son Thanh, Long Thanh, Tang Thanh and Xuan Thanh. Accordingly, Son Thanh commune meets the model new rural standards in terms of security and order; Long Thanh commune meets the model new rural standards in terms of digital transformation; Tang Thanh commune meets the model new rural standards in terms of culture and Xuan Thanh commune meets the model new rural standards in terms of tourism.
Coming to Tang Thanh commune today, many people cannot help but admire the cultural houses in the hamlets that have been invested in and built spaciously, with auxiliary works to meet the meeting, entertainment and recreation needs of the people.
Mr. Dao Van Khai - Chairman of the People's Committee of Tang Thanh commune said: Tang Thanh's strength is implementing the criteria of grassroots cultural institutions, however, in the process of building a model new rural area, the locality has expanded the content of preserving historical relics and intangible cultural heritage. Therefore, the locality established 3 more clubs on Tuong, Cheo, and ceremonial drums.
In recent years, Tang Thanh has focused on investing in building cultural houses in hamlets that meet the standards of a new model rural area. Accordingly, hamlets plan to build cultural houses including stadiums and cultural houses according to a common design: a campus of 3,500 square meters. up to 6,500m2, in which the cultural house has an area of 180m22, along with artificial turf and other auxiliary works... Up to this point, 4/7 hamlets have artificial turf, it is expected that in 2025 there will be 1 more hamlet with artificial turf.
To have a standard communal cultural house, each hamlet invests an average of 2 billion VND, of which the commune budget supports 700 - 800 million VND, the rest is contributed by the people and socialized. This is considered an outstanding criterion of the locality. The high consensus in the Party and the people with the motto "People know, people discuss, people voluntarily participate and enjoy", has contributed significantly to encouraging and motivating people to enthusiastically participate, creating success in building new rural areas in the locality.

Nghi Van Commune (Nghi Loc) has proudly achieved the first model new rural area in education of Nghi Loc district, because in recent years, the commune has focused on investing in upgrading school facilities with focus and key points, building a modern educational environment, meeting the requirements of educational innovation, thereby maintaining and improving the quality of education. Nghi Van has completed the school system at all 3 levels with enough classrooms, solid functional rooms with standard equipment, and playgrounds, ensuring the service for educational activities.
In addition, the commune has maintained and improved the quality of universal preschool education for 5-year-old children, and universal primary and secondary education. In recent school years, the quality of education at all levels of the commune has been among the top in the district.
Mr. Tran Van Sao - Secretary of Nghi Van Commune Party Committee said: In order for the locality to achieve the model new rural standard in education, in addition to the determination of the Party Committee and local government, it is also necessary to create consensus among key officials and the people. During the implementation process, the locality clearly assigned tasks to each sectoral official, each school and each hamlet. Thanks to that, after only 1 year of achieving the advanced new rural standard, Nghi Van commune achieved the model new rural standard. Currently, Nghi Van is continuing to build a smart commune with digital transformation.
The whole province has 12 model new rural communes.
The consistent viewpoint of new rural construction is to stabilize production and improve people's material and spiritual life. After more than 2 years of implementing Decision No. 1563/QD-UBND dated June 7, 2022 on promulgating regulations on contents and criteria for communes meeting new rural standards, advanced new rural standards, model new rural standards, and districts meeting advanced new rural standards in Nghe An province in the period of 2021-2025, by early 2025, Nghe An had 275/362 communes meeting new rural standards, of which 102 communes met advanced new rural standards, 12 communes met model new rural standards (data after merging communes); 10 district-level units met new rural standards.
Currently, the Provincial People's Committee is continuing to assess a number of communes that meet advanced new rural standards and model new rural standards. Therefore, the number of communes that meet advanced new rural standards and model new rural standards will continue to increase in the coming time.
Building a new model rural area has helped localities gain experience in selecting outstanding criteria, correctly assessing advantages and potentials, and focusing on implementing key tasks; creating a colorful new rural picture, stirring up momentum and motivation.
