Nghe An province has eliminated over 96% of temporary and dilapidated houses, with 3 districts and towns having already reached the target.

By June 20, 2025, Nghe An province had completed support for the construction and repair of 20,067 houses, reaching 96.06% of the total need (20,891 houses). Hoang Mai town and the districts of Quy Hop and Do Luong have completed the entire program.

On the morning of June 22nd, Comrade Pham Minh Chinh - Member of the Political Bureau, Prime Minister - chaired the 5th meeting of the Central Steering Committee for the nationwide elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, the 18th meeting of the State Steering Committee for important national and key projects in the transport sector; and the 2nd meeting to promote the disbursement of public investment capital in 2025.

Also attending were Comrade Do Van Chien - Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Deputy Prime Ministers, leaders of ministries, branches and central agencies who are members of the Steering Committee, and leaders of provinces and centrally-administered cities.

The meeting was held in person at the Government Headquarters, and online with participants from provinces and centrally-administered cities.

At the Nghe An provincial venue, the following individuals co-chaired the meeting: Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee for mobilizing and supporting the construction and repair of houses for the poor and those with housing difficulties in the province (Steering Committee 1838); and Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province, and Deputy Head of the Steering Committee.

Also attending were members of the Provincial Party Committee: Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Hoang Phu Hien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and members of the Steering Committee.

Regarding the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, as of June 20, 2025, Nghe An province had completed support for the construction and repair of 20,067 houses, reaching 96.06% of the total need (20,891 houses).

Specifically, support from the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses (socialized funding) reached 10,476 out of 10,685 houses, achieving 98.04%; support from two national target programs reached 6,776 out of 6,950 houses, achieving 97.5%; and the Program for people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs reached 2,815 out of 3,256 houses, achieving 86.46%. Hoang Mai town and the districts of Quy Hop and Do Luong have completed the entire program.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Steering Committee 1838 of Nghe An province have agreed on a target of completing the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province before July 31, 2025.

According to a report by the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, as of now, 38 out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide have completed the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses. Based on the registration plans of localities, this number is expected to increase to 40 out of 63 provinces and cities by June 30th.

It is expected that by August 25th of this year, all localities will have completed the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide.
