Nghe An: Two bread shops fined 80 million VND and suspended for causing food poisoning.

The People's Committee of Nghe An province recently issued Decision No. 02/QD-XPHC dated May 29, 2026, imposing administrative penalties on an individual selling bread in Dien Chau commune for violating food safety regulations, causing food poisoning and affecting the health of many people.

The person penalized is Ms. NTQ (born in 1995, residing in Hamlet 5, Dien Chau Commune, Nghe An Province) - the owner of two Quynh Bread Shops (Branch 1 in Block 4, Dien Chau Commune and Branch 2 in Trung Hong Hamlet, Dien Chau Commune).

The penalty decision stated that Ms. NTQ had committed an administrative violation: Processing, supplying, and selling food that did not meet technical standards and food safety regulations, causing food poisoning affecting the health of 5 or more people, but not to the extent of criminal prosecution.

The case did not have any aggravating circumstances and noted two mitigating circumstances, including: the offender was a pregnant woman and voluntarily confessed, sincerely repented, and rectified the consequences.

Applying current legal regulations, the People's Committee of Nghe An province decided to fine Ms. NTQ 80,000,000 VND as prescribed.

In addition to administrative penalties, supplementary sanctions were applied: Suspension of food production, processing, and business activities for 3 months for both establishments of Quynh Bread Shop. Furthermore, Ms. NTQ must bear all costs for handling the food poisoning incident, including examination and treatment for those affected.

The Provincial People's Committee assigns the Dien Chau Commune People's Committee the responsibility of issuing penalty decisions, implementing necessary measures to ensure the full collection of fines, advising on the handling of confiscated items, and simultaneously urging and supervising the enforcement.
