According to Canard, the exact amount the French head of state's personal barber has received since the beginning of 2012 is 9,895 euros per month.
According to the leaked contract, the barber will be taking care of Hollande's hair for five years.
It's worth noting that Hollande's monthly allowance is only 5,000 euros.
This allowance comes with housing allowances and other family-related expense benefits.
According to Canard, the employment contract for cutting the French President's hair bears the signature of Sylvie Hubac, former head of Hollande's Cabinet Office.
Reportedly, this newspaper once published an article about the Cabinet Office's salary system based on reports in the book Elysée Off.
To explain the high salary paid to the President's personal barber, lawyer Sarah Levy argued that it was an important job.
The female lawyer argued: "The barber must be available 24/7 to serve the President; he is never allowed to work outside the home. He also rarely has time for his children, illness, or other activities…"
According to a source from the Elysée Palace, the President's barber has to get up early and work intensely throughout the day. His daily job is to trim the President's hair every morning and on other necessary occasions, such as whenever he appears in public, regardless of holidays.
Of course, the President's personal barber must accompany him on every official trip.
