Artist Han Van Tinh passed away at the age of 59.

Chu Văn Quềnh, from the film "Land and People," passed away at noon on September 4th at his home in Hanoi.

Actress Tra My, a close colleague of artist Han Van Tinh, said that he passed away at his home at around 11:20 AM. A few hours earlier, his family had brought him home from the hospital.

Artist Han Van Tinh was admitted to the emergency room on the evening of September 1st in a deep coma, with lung cancer having metastasized to his brain. He has been given oxygen and heart-supporting medication to maintain his life from that day until now. During the emergency treatment, there were times when the artist's condition was reported to be stable, causing his family, friends, and fans to continue praying for a miracle.

Artist Han Van Tinh was diagnosed with lung cancer a year and a half ago. He had previously undergone treatment and overcome the disease, continuing to perform, but relapsed during Tet (Lunar New Year) in 2016. Since the beginning of this year, the artist has undergone two rounds of radiation therapy because the tumor has metastasized to his armpit and brain.

In June, he was also hospitalized in critical condition, seemingly on the verge of death. Afterward, he returned home and his health showed signs of recovery. He even walked around the house, chatted cheerfully, and gained weight. The artist is also looking forward to returning to acting in comedy films this Lunar New Year season.

Artist Han Van Tinh was born in 1957 in Phu Tho province. He is the head of Art Troupe 2 of the Vietnam Traditional Opera Theatre. He has won many silver medals for plays such as "Black Sunset," "The Scream in the Royal Palace," "Hang Vo Defeated at O ​​Giang," "Tran Hung Dao," and "Bach Tinh"... In 1999, he was awarded the "For the Cause of Vietnamese Theatre" medal by the Vietnam Association of Theatre Artists.

He is also famous for his roles as Chu Van Quenh in the film "Land and People," So in "Storm Through the Village," Trok in "The Gamble," Tuan in "The Village Trumpeter," etc.
