Vietnamese artists bid farewell to musician Nguyen Anh 9

At 6am on April 18, the funeral of musician Nguyen Anh 9 took place at his private home in Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City. The ceremony lasted nearly an hour before the musician's coffin was taken to Binh Hung Hoa Cemetery for cremation. To keep the family private, visitors waited outside.

At around 7am, the family finished the ceremony at home and started to take the coffin of musician Nguyen Anh 9 to the cremation station. Musician Nguyen Quang - the eldest son of the late musician - was in charge of carrying the incense burner. He suppressed his grief so that his father could pass away peacefully.

Musician Nguyen Anh 9's wife - Ms. Ngoc Han - and her children and grandchildren watched the coffin.

The musician's wife was helped away by family members. The whole family could not contain their emotions as they bid him farewell.

Musician Nguyen Anh 9's real name is Nguyen Dinh Anh. He was born in 1940 in Ninh Thuan. At the age of 18, he began pursuing a musical career. His famous songs include:Immense sadness, For a distant lover, Lonely, Hello sadness... In recent years, the musician has stopped composing, and he plays the piano at some hotels in Ho Chi Minh City.

On March 20, musician Nguyen Anh 9 was taken to the emergency room in a coma. He regained consciousness and was constantly attended by his family at the hospital. After nearly a month in the hospital, the musician fell back into a coma and passed away at noon on April 14.
