Nghi Loc district has 22 out of 29 communes that have met the standards for new rural areas.
(Baonghean.vn) - A consistent goal set by the Party committees and authorities of Nghi Loc district is to strive to make Nghi Loc a dynamic and comprehensively developed locality, achieving the status of a new rural district by 2020.
By February 2020, Nghi Loc district had 22 out of 29 communes meeting the New Rural Area standards, achieving 75.86%. In 2019 alone, eight communes – Nghi Xa, Nghi Van, Nghi Hung, Nghi Cong Bac, Nghi Cong Nam, Nghi Dien, Nghi Van, and Nghi Thach – were assessed and recognized by the province as New Rural Area communes. The average number of criteria met per commune was 17.5, an increase of 1.2 criteria per commune compared to 2018.

Thanks to concerted efforts, overcoming difficulties, and decisive leadership, in 2019, 173.56 km of roads in the district were asphalted and concreted, an increase of 159.384 km compared to 2018.
The province and district's attention is demonstrated by the amount of cement supplied for road construction, totaling 29,572 tons, of which the people contributed 4,080 tons. Currently, the entire district has 234/234 km of inter-commune roads paved with asphalt or concrete, reaching 100%; and 299.32/372 km of inter-village roads paved with asphalt or concrete, reaching 80.4%. Transportation has become much more convenient and efficient than before.

Many key projects in the district have been completed or are nearing completion, such as: National Highway 48E (Quan Hanh - Cho Son section), the main road along the center of Quan Hanh town, Nghi Loc district; Provincial Road 534 leading to Dong Thuan sticky rice cake village in Nghi Trung commune, Nghi Loc district...
In the agricultural sector, the district continues to develop 11 "large-scale farming" models. In addition, with its potential advantages in industry and trade, Nghi Loc is becoming a destination for many projects in the area.
Nghi Loc district is striving to have 7 more communes achieve new rural standards in 2020, including Nghi Kieu, Nghi Phuong, Nghi Thuan, Nghi Yen, Nghi Tien, Nghi Thiet, and Nghi Quang, raising the total number of communes meeting new rural standards to 29 out of 29 communes, achieving 100% and completing all criteria for the district to achieve new rural standards.
