Nghi Loc: Meeting with 112 Catholic Party members

(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of Christmas 2015, on December 18th, the Standing Committee of the Nghi Loc District Party Committee organized a meeting and discussion with 112 Catholic Party members in the district.

At the meeting, the district Party committee highly appreciated the pivotal role of Catholic Party members in leading and mobilizing the people to effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws; and effectively carrying out local emulation movements, especially the movement for national unity in building a cultured life associated with building new rural areas in the district.

To date, the entire district has 50 out of 146 Catholic hamlets that have achieved the title of cultural village; there are 576 high-income economic models. The percentage of well-off and wealthy households among the Catholic community accounts for 58.5%, and the poverty rate has decreased to 10%.

At the meeting, Catholic party members raised their concerns and thoughts, and proposed to the Party Committee several issues regarding mobilizing resources for building new rural areas; attracting investment projects and creating local jobs for workers; transforming crop structures to achieve high economic value; and some issues related to Party building, building the political system, and training and developing Catholic cadres.

Acknowledging the positive contributions of Catholic Party members, the district Party committee requested that these members further promote their pioneering and exemplary roles in the new rural development movement and the building of cultural life at the grassroots level. They should mobilize the people to effectively carry out land clearance work to attract investment, ensure security and order in the area, and actively participate in building a strong Party and grassroots political system.
