Nghi Loc administers 13,700 doses of rabies vaccine to dogs.

(Baonghean.vn) - Nghi Loc district has supplied 3,000 doses of rabies vaccine for dogs out of a planned 13,700 doses to communes and towns in the area and is striving to vaccinate all of them.

According to statistical data, the entire district has 13,700 pet dogs that need rabies vaccination. The district's Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station has received 3,000 doses of rabies vaccine for dogs from the Provincial Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department.

To date, nine communes, including Nghi Phuong, Nghi Xuan, Nghi Thiet, Nghi Thach, Nghi Yen, Nghi Cong Bac, Nghi Thuan, Nghi Van, and Nghi Phong, have received the vaccines for administration. Of these, Nghi Phuong commune has essentially completed the vaccination program, vaccinating 570 dogs against rabies.

Due to the complacency of pet owners who haven't fully grasped the dangers of rabies, they haven't actively participated in vaccination programs. Meanwhile, the number of people bitten by dogs is considerable, and many tragic consequences have occurred. Given this situation, the veterinary sector has advised dog and cat owners to implement effective rabies prevention and control measures in accordance with state regulations. Among these, vaccination is the optimal and safest method.

Nghi Loc district is striving to complete the 2017 rabies vaccination program for dogs before April 10th.
