Nghi Loc: 13,700 dogs vaccinated against rabies.

(Baonghean.vn) - Faced with the situation of people being bitten by rabid dogs in many localities, Nghi Loc district is currently organizing a simultaneous rabies vaccination campaign for dogs in 30 communes and towns.

During this vaccination campaign, the entire district vaccinated over 13,700 dogs. Prior to this, to ensure the vaccination campaign was successful, the district notified the communes of the vaccination plan and organized mobile awareness campaigns throughout the area to encourage people to improve their understanding of rabies vaccination for dogs, thereby protecting the health of pets and limiting the spread of the disease in the community.

In addition, the district's steering committee requested the decisive involvement of local authorities, with each official and Party member setting a good example in properly vaccinating their family's livestock against rabies.

Currently, the district's veterinary station has received 3,000 doses of rabies vaccine for dogs from the provincial veterinary sub-department, and 10 communes have received the vaccine to implement vaccination. Of these, Nghi Phuong commune has basically completed this task with 570 dogs vaccinated against rabies.

Nghi Loc district is striving to complete the 2017 rabies vaccination program for dogs before April 10th.
