New Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee: Nghe An will have 130 communes and wards from June 16, 2025
After the arrangement, Nghe An province has 130 commune-level administrative units, including 119 communes and 11 wards.

On June 16, on behalf of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Comrade Tran Thanh Man - Politburo member, Chairman of the National Assembly signed and issuedResolution No. 1678/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Nghe An province in 2025.
The Resolution was passed by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on June 16, 2025 and comes into effect from the date of passage.
Accordingly, after the arrangement, Nghe An province has 130 commune-level administrative units, including 119 communes and 11 wards; of which 110 communes and 11 wards were formed after the arrangement and 9 communes did not carry out the arrangement: Keng Du, My Ly, Bac Ly, Huoi Tu, Muong Long, Binh Chuan, Huu Khuong, Luong Minh, Chau Binh.
The Standing Committee of the National Assembly pointed out: Competent agencies urgently carry out necessary preparations to ensure that local authorities in commune-level administrative units formed after the reorganization officially operate from July 1, 2025.
The local government in the previously arranged commune-level administrative unit continues to operate until the local government in the later arranged commune-level administrative unit officially operates.
Regarding implementation, the National Assembly Standing Committee assigns the Government, People's Council, People's Committee of Nghe An province, local authorities of administrative units related to the implementation of the arrangement and other relevant agencies and organizations, to be responsible for organizing the implementation of this Resolution; arranging and stabilizing the apparatus of local agencies and organizations; stabilizing the lives of local people, ensuring the requirements of socio-economic development, national defense and security in the area.
The Government is assigned, based on this Resolution and Project No. 343/DA-CP dated May 9, 2025 of the Government, to organize the accurate determination of the natural area of commune-level administrative units and publicly announce it before September 30, 2025; at the same time, urgently deploy the work of measuring and determining the boundaries of administrative units in the field to establish records on administrative unit boundaries according to regulations.
The Nationalities Council, the National Assembly Committees, the National Assembly Delegation and the National Assembly deputies of Nghe An province, within the scope of their tasks and powers, shall supervise the implementation of this Resolution.
