New resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee: Nghe An will have 130 communes and wards from June 16, 2025.

On June 16th, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Comrade Tran Thanh Man - Member of the Political Bureau, Chairman of the National Assembly - signed and issued the document.Resolution No. 1678/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the reorganization of commune-level administrative units in Nghe An province in 2025.

The resolution was adopted by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on June 16, 2025, and takes effect from the date of adoption.

Accordingly, after the reorganization, Nghe An province has 130 commune-level administrative units, including 119 communes and 11 wards; of which 110 communes and 11 wards were formed after the reorganization, and 9 communes were not reorganized: Keng Du, My Ly, Bac Ly, Huoi Tu, Muong Long, Binh Chuan, Huu Khuong, Luong Minh, and Chau Binh.

The Standing Committee of the National Assembly has stated: The relevant agencies must urgently carry out the necessary preparatory work to ensure that the local governments in the commune-level administrative units formed after the reorganization officially begin operating from July 1, 2025.

Regarding implementation, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly assigns the Government, the People's Council, the People's Committee of Nghe An province, the local authorities of relevant administrative units involved in the restructuring, and other relevant agencies and organizations the responsibility to organize the implementation of this Resolution; to restructure and stabilize the apparatus of local agencies and organizations; to stabilize the lives of the local people, ensuring the requirements for socio-economic development, national defense and security in the area.

The Government is tasked, based on this Resolution and Government Project No. 343/DA-CP dated May 9, 2025, with organizing the accurate determination of the natural area of ​​commune-level administrative units and publicly announcing it before September 30, 2025; simultaneously, it is to urgently implement the surveying and determination of the boundaries of administrative units on the ground to prepare administrative boundary records as prescribed.

The National Assembly's Council, Committees, Delegation of the National Assembly, and National Assembly representatives from Nghe An province, within their respective duties and powers, shall monitor the implementation of this Resolution.
