US lawmakers call for the arrest of the Israeli Prime Minister.
Democratic Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib has called on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other senior officials over the Jewish state's actions in the Gaza Strip. Her press release was quoted by Fox News.
Tlaib said, “It is now clearer than ever that we must end all U.S. military funding for the apartheid regime in Israel and demand that President Biden facilitate a permanent ceasefire, immediately.”
She refused to consider it a coincidence that shortly after the U.S. released aid to Israel without any human rights conditions, Benjamin Netanyahu “launched a ground invasion of Rafah.”
The statement read: “I call on the ICC (International Criminal Court) to immediately issue arrest warrants for Netanyahu and other senior Israeli officials to bring them to justice.”
On April 29, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked US President Joe Biden to help prevent the International Criminal Court from issuing arrest warrants for senior Israeli officials accused of crimes in the Gaza Strip.
