Ukrainian MP: "Russia is an irreplaceable partner"
Russia is Ukraine's largest trading partner and there is no substitute, said Rada MP Evgeny Murayev on the "NASH" television channel.
"Regardless of what they (the Ukrainian authorities) say, Russia is indeed a strategic trading partner. Firstly, it is the largest country in terms of goods circulation, and the largest country in terms of goods circulation with us is also the Russian Federation. In the past year, regardless of what Mr. Poroshenko says, circulation has increased by 25%," said Evgeny Murayev.
The Rada MP added that Ukraine imports many goods from Russia that it cannot buy from other countries: hydrocarbons, nuclear fuel, chemical products.
"No matter what anyone tells us, there is no alternative. And, note, Russia has not canceled these agreements (on the supply of goods)," Mr. Murayev emphasized.
The politician also reminded everyone that Russia and Ukraine share a long history, with many commonalities in traditions, culture, and religion.
