Ukrainian MP: “Russia is an irreplaceable partner”
Russia is Ukraine's largest trading partner and there is no alternative, Rada deputy Evgeny Murayev said on the "NASH" TV channel.
"No matter what they (Ukrainian authorities) say, Russia is a strategic trade partner. First of all, it is the largest country in terms of cargo traffic, and the largest country for us in terms of cargo traffic is also the Russian Federation. Over the past year, despite what Poroshenko says, the traffic has increased by 25%," said Evgeny Murayev.
The Rada deputy added that Ukraine imports many goods from Russia that it cannot buy from other countries: hydrocarbons, nuclear fuel, chemical products.
"No matter what anyone tells us, there is no alternative. And, please note, Russia has not canceled these agreements (on the supply of goods)," - Mr. Murayev stressed.
The politician also reminded that Russia and Ukraine have a long history, with many things in common in terms of traditions, culture and religion.
