Mr. Hoang Van Dac, residing in Phu Loc hamlet (Nghia Phu commune, Nghia Dan district), grows Booth avocados and Hass avocados intercropped with custard apples and guavas. After three years, his family's 120 avocado trees have yielded high productivity. Mr. Dac said: "Booth and Hass avocado varieties are not picky about soil and are easy to grow, are less susceptible to pests and diseases, require low investment, and are suitable for the local climate and soil conditions. From the second to the third year, they yield large and uniform fruits... The avocado planting area must have good drainage, and grafted trees will grow well."
Also in Phu Loc hamlet, Mai Van Thong regularly harvests 200 kg of avocados daily to sell in Hanoi. His garden has over 50 avocado trees, 15 of which are in their second year of harvest.

Mr. Thong shared: "Avocados from Nghia Dan are glossy, have yellow flesh, are soft and fragrant, so consumers prefer them. With an income like last year reaching 50 million VND/year/household. Growing avocado trees is easier than other crops, avocados usually have a good harvest, and prices are stable."
I know that Nghia Phu commune has planned over 500 hectares of land for concentrated fruit tree cultivation, including avocado trees. To date, the commune has expanded this to nearly 30 hectares, mainly intercropping avocados with other fruit trees such as custard apples and guavas; concentrated in Loc and Phu Hoa hamlets.
Regarding avocado cultivation, during his recent working visit to Nghia Dan, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh also highly appreciated the local leadership's efforts in developing and expanding the avocado cultivation model in Nghia Phu district, emphasizing the need to capitalize on potential and advantages to create momentum for development.
The Nghia Dan commune and district authorities are making efforts to build the Nghia Dan avocado brand. Mr. Truong Quang Thang, chairman of the Nghia Phu commune People's Committee, said: “The locality recognizes that this is not only a model that helps growers harvest more products and increase income from the same area, but also opens up prospects for many farming households to become wealthy.”

Currently, Booth avocados and Hass avocados are sold at the farm gate for around 13,000 to 15,000 VND/kg, with an average of about 3 avocados per kg. Each avocado tree yields an income of approximately 1.3 million VND. Calculated per hectare, after deducting expenses, farmers earn a profit of 150 million to 200 million VND/ha.
