Rebellious son kills mother in a moment of madness
Hallucinating, Vuong stabbed his mother to death and then seriously injured his daughter. The suspect then attempted suicide but failed.
On March 27, Lang Son Provincial Police announced that they had decided to prosecute the case and suspect Ly Van Vuong (40 years old, residing in Ho Son commune, Huu Lung district) to investigate the act of murder.
According to the investigation agency, at around 2:00 p.m. on March 20, Vuong was at home when he had hallucinations, hearing many voices in his ears about his relatives being chased and killed and that many people were looking to kill him.

Vuong went into the kitchen, took a wooden-handled pig-slaughtering knife, and left the house to find the person who intended to kill him. On the way, he met his mother, Lam Thi Mai (67 years old), who had just returned from herding buffalo. Vuong followed her home.
While Mrs. Mai was sitting on the front porch, Vuong had a hallucination and stabbed her mother in the chest and neck, causing her death. Entering the house, seeing his 10-year-old daughter sitting on the bed, Vuong used the wooden handle to hit her on the head and neck.
Seeing his son bleeding and crying, Vuong stopped beating him and ran out into the yard, using a knife to stab himself in the stomach, but his brother ran over and snatched the knife from his hand. The police arrived and arrested the suspect.
At the investigation agency, Vuong suffered from hallucinations and psychosis. The cause was most likely due to long-term alcohol consumption.
