Foreign player Damir Memovic: 'See you at SLNA someday'
(Baonghean.vn) - After foreign player Michael Olaha left SLNA, foreign player Damir Memovic also returned home. The Serbian central defender bid farewell to the Nghe An team and hoped to meet them again.
In the past, Song Lam Nghe An was a favorite destination for many talented foreign players. However, most of them played as forwards. And the presence of Damir Memovic in the SLNA squad in V.League 2019 has brought about a difference.

Having arrived at SLNA for a trial quite early, Memovic quickly impressed in friendly matches and was kept on by the scouting team until the very last minute. Outperforming dozens of other candidates, he was the first player the Nghe An team approached to sign a contract.
In the 2019 V.League season, Memovic combined effectively with Hoang Van Khanh, rendering opponents almost helpless against their high crosses. Following Memovic's impressive performances, the fans in Nghe An province continuously applauded the 1989-born player.
Having played in 25 out of 26 matches for SLNA so far, he and the SLNA defense are setting a V.League 2019 record with 11 clean sheets, becoming the most solid defense in the V.League. At 30 years old, Memovic's physical condition remains excellent thanks to his professional lifestyle. When center-back Van Khanh is paired with the Serbian foreign player, he gradually matures and regains his confidence.
After parting ways with SLNA, foreign player Memovic shared his feelings on his personal page: “Today, I would like to announce the end of my contract with SLNA Club. I am grateful to everyone who stood by me during the past season, the coaches, the management team, and especially my teammates.”

Speaking to a reporter from Nghe An Newspaper, foreign player Memovic has not yet decided which team he will join next season. It is known that several teams in the South have their sights set on him; however, the 1989-born central defender still hopes to continue playing for SLNA.
