(Baonghean.vn) - Recently, the Hanoi FC management denied that Hoang Vu Samson had moved to Thailand to play for the club. Meanwhile, the player joining the Thai League is actually another foreign player for the team.

Recently, Thai newspapers have been reporting that Hoang Vu Samson will leave Hanoi FC to join Buriram United. The Mthai newspaper even claimed that the player, who is of Nigerian origin, will make his debut for the team at Chang Arena on December 31st.

However, yesterday, the Hanoi FC management denied this and affirmed that Samson will continue to stay with Hanoi FC. “Hoang Vu Samson will continue to be with Hanoi FC. There is no truth to the rumors that he will go to Thailand next season,” coach Chu Dinh Nghiem confirmed.

Nevertheless, Buriram continues to harbor hopes of bringing quality foreign players from the V.League to their ranks. And the Thai team has reached an agreement with a defender, not a striker.

This morning (December 28th), the Hanoi FC team announced on their Fanpage that they have officially parted ways with central defender Alvaro Silva. The Filipino player joined the capital city team at the beginning of the 2017 season on a two-year contract. He made 21 appearances for Hanoi FC, contributing 4 goals to the club.

However, the 33-year-old central defender soon parted ways with the team based at Hang Day Stadium to join Sukhothai FC in Thailand while his contract still had one year left. According to Fox Sports magazine, the reason for this breakup was that Hanoi FC only finished third in the V.League 2017 last season and did not qualify for the Asian Cup.

During his career, the Spanish-born player spent two years playing for Malaga in La Liga. Before joining Hanoi FC, Alvaro Silva spent two years playing in the South Korean second division, Daejeon Citizen. Historically, there have been many cases of quality foreign players who tried out and played in the V.League but chose to join Thai football because of the generous salaries and ideal development environment.
