According to RIA Novosti, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi said he plans to travel to Moscow on Monday, June 23, to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"He said he plans to go to Moscow on Monday to meet with President Putin," NBC News journalist Andrea Mitchel said on television, following an interview with the Iranian Foreign Minister.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi said that the US had used negotiations with Iran on a nuclear deal to cover up Israeli attacks, thus undermining trust in the negotiation process.

"He suggested that Washington might not actually be interested in diplomacy and was simply using negotiations as a cover for Israel's airstrike on Iran," NBC News quoted the Iranian Foreign Minister as saying.

According to Aragchi, President Donald Trump's administration should "show determination to negotiate an agreement." The Iranian foreign minister said his country was unsure whether it could trust the US in diplomatic negotiations following the Israeli attack.

"What they did was truly a diplomatic betrayal," Foreign Minister Aragchi added.

On the night of June 13th, Israel launched an offensive against Iran, accusing it of pursuing a secret military nuclear program. The targets of the aerial bombings and sabotage attacks were nuclear facilities, generals, prominent nuclear physicists, air bases, air defense systems, and surface-to-surface missiles.

Iran denies a military component in its nuclear project. The Director-General of the International Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, stated on June 18th that the agency's inspectors have found no concrete evidence that Iran is pursuing a nuclear weapons program.
