According to Iran's Press TV channel, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the European Union (EU) needs to support more actively and take practical measures in implementing the historic nuclear agreement between Iran and the P5+1 group (including the UK, China, France, Russia, the US and Germany) in 2015.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a conference in Samarkand, Uzbekistan on November 10, Foreign Minister Zarif added that he had held "very detailed" discussions with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and was informed about the EU's efforts to fully implement the nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Iran's top diplomat affirmed that Tehran welcomes European countries' support for the full implementation of the JCPOA.

He also said that Tehran had complied with its commitments under the nuclear deal but the Washington administration had not fulfilled its obligations, stressing: "European countries need to correct this situation."
Also according to Press TV, regarding the situation in the Middle East, Foreign Minister Zarif criticized actions that could cause more crises in the Middle East, leading to more "disasters and misfortunes."

Commenting on his Twitter account, Iran's foreign minister said Lebanon was the latest in a series of countries in the region after Qatar and Yemen facing crisis.

Zarif's comments come amid rising tensions between Tehran and Riyadh after Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman accused Iran of supplying weapons to Houthi rebels in Yemen, which he said was "a direct act of military aggression" by Iran against the kingdom.

Iran's foreign minister has rejected the accusations of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, calling them "false and dangerous"./.
