Iranian Foreign Minister resigns.
On February 25th, Middle Eastern media outlets simultaneously reported that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif had announced his resignation, according to baoquocte.

The announcement, posted by Iran's foreign minister on Instagram, read: "I apologize to you for all the shortcomings… over the years during my time as Foreign Minister… I thank the country and Iranian officials."
Meanwhile, the semi-official news agencyTasnimAn Iranian source said: "Several sources have confirmed Zarif's resignation."
However, it remains unclear whether President Hassan Rouhani will accept Zarif's resignation. The Iranian government and Foreign Ministry have not yet issued an official comment on the matter.
Zarif played a key role in the negotiations and signing of the nuclear agreement between Iran and world powers in 2015. However, he faced much criticism and attacks from hardline, anti-Western figures in Tehran after the US withdrew from the nuclear deal with Iran and reimposed sanctions on the country.
