Russian Foreign Minister: The threat must be neutralized to achieve peace in Ukraine.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov emphasized that "it is necessary to reliably guarantee Russia's security."

According to the TASS news agency on November 20, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that a sustainable solution to the Ukraine conflict can only be achieved by addressing its root causes. Russia's security must be reliably guaranteed, and threats from NATO expansion must be neutralized.
"Clearly, a sustainable solution to the conflict can only be achieved by addressing its root causes. It is essential to reliably guarantee Russia's security, neutralize threats from NATO's aggressive expansion, and prevent attempts to draw Ukraine into this military alliance," Lavrov asserted.
The Russian Foreign Minister emphasized that, "it is equally important to ensure that the rights of Russians and Russian-speaking people in the territories controlled by the Ukrainian authorities are respected."
In developments related to the Ukraine conflict, the Financial Times reported that Ukrainian officials have criticized the US-proposed plan to resolve the conflict, stating that it will not be implemented in the country without significant changes.
Earlier, on November 19, the Financial Times, citing sources, reported that the plan proposed by the US to peacefully resolve the conflict in Ukraine included cutting US military aid to Ukraine, recognizing the "official status" of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, declaring Russian as the national language in Ukraine, Kyiv making complete concessions to Donbass, and reducing the size of the Ukrainian armed forces.
Meanwhile, Axios, citing a US official, reported that a meeting between US President's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky in Türkiye was canceled when Zelensky reportedly did not want to discuss the US-proposed plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
