At 61, Quoc Khanh is happy with his single life, living alone in a small room.

As a familiar face in the Táo Quân (Vietnamese New Year's Eve comedy show), Meritorious Artist Quốc Khánh will continue to play the role of Ngọc Hoàng (Jade Emperor) in this year's program.

Over the years, he has been loved by audiences for his charming and natural acting style and insightful lines.

Meritorious Artist Quoc Khanh will participate in the 2024 Tet Comedy Show (Tao Quan).

While he may be a certain way on stage, in real life, Quoc Khanh is a man of few words and lives a rather private life. He describes himself as an down-to-earth artist, dressing simply and never wearing designer clothes.

Quoc Khanh lives in his mother's house in a small room of only about 10 square meters.

Sharing about his living space, the male artist once said that the room was so cramped that furniture like the bed, wardrobe, table, and chairs all had to be custom-made.It's too thin for the room's dimensions. My wardrobe isn't even deep enough to hang clothes vertically; I have to hang them... face down on top of each other."

Living alone but not lonely. At 61, he chooses a happy single life, working hard. Many friends and colleagues want him to get married, but Quoc Khanh believes marriage is a matter of fate.

He revealed that he once had a relationship and even considered getting married, but it didn't work out.

"Jade Emperor" Quoc Khanh acknowledges that if he wanted to get married quickly, he could do so. But marriage is like a circle; sometimes he puts one foot in and then pulls it out, not daring to move forward because he doesn't want to cause suffering to the woman who would have to spend her life with an artist.

"I think it's simple: if a woman comes to me and doesn't receive love, her life is nothing short of hell on earth. And once you're married, you're going to spend your whole life together, not just a day or two, so how can you expect her to endure you?", Quoc Khanh once shared with the media.

Many people question his choice to remain single. Quoc Khanh once said:People say I'm being reckless. I don't need to explain or defend myself, nor do I need to think about it to ease my mind. Rumors don't determine anything in my life. If someone is friends with me and understands me, they will sympathize with my unmarried status, instead of being nosy and scrutinizing."

Despite all this, Quoc Khanh has remained a believer in love over the years. He once shared with the media:Love is a miracle. It makes people young again, always smiling, and seeing life as beautiful. You can do without a wife, but you can never do without love."

In real life, Quoc Khanh is a man of few words and quite reserved.

Quoc Khanh said that when his mother was alive, she also urged him to get married and have children, but after understanding his personality and way of life, she stopped pressuring him.

After his mother passed away, Quoc Khanh became more withdrawn. The artist said that he also went through a period of uncertainty, but birth, aging, sickness, and death are unavoidable.

In 2022, social media was abuzz with a clip from a farewell party for artist Quoc Khanh upon his retirement. In the clip, after thanking everyone for their affection, "Ngoc Hoang" (the Jade Emperor) announced that he had a girlfriend at the age of 60. He happily introduced his "girlfriend" to his close friends at the party.

Many fans were delighted when Quoc Khanh found his significant other. However, in reality, this was just a lighthearted moment that occurred at Quoc Khanh's retirement party. The woman whom Meritorious Artist Quoc Khanh introduced as his "girlfriend" was actually just a colleague who was already married.

A colleague at the Vietnam National Drama Theatre spoke out:"This was a farewell party for 'father' Khanh at the Vietnam National Drama Theatre. The girl in the clip is just a colleague from the same workplace. She is married and I don't understand why the clip has been disseminated with such misleading content."

In an interview, Quoc Khanh confided that he understands that loneliness can come in later life, but he still chooses to remain single because:"Everyone has their own way of thinking, I don't need to follow anyone else. As long as I feel happy and comfortable in my life, that's enough; I don't need to please anyone."

Quoc Khanh also said that although he lives alone and has no commitments, like many other artists, if he only lived on his performance salary, it wouldn't be enough to cover his living expenses. Therefore, he does many different jobs to meet his life's needs.

In 2022, he retired from the Vietnam National Drama Theatre. Quoc Khanh said he received many offers to act in television series. However, he declined them because he couldn't arrange his schedule. After retirement, he will make time to participate because, for him, being an actor is the happiest thing.
