The temple with the most whales in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 20th, the People's Committee of Cua Lo Town held a ceremony to receive the provincial-level historical relic recognition for Lang Hieu Temple in Nghi Hai Ward, Cua Lo Town.

The Hieu Village Temple has a history of over 300 years and is where the people of the coastal area of Cua Hoi choose to preserve the remains and worship the whale god, the deities Cao Son, Cao Cac, the Holy Mother, Sat Hai Dai Vuong Hoang Ta Thon, and the Buddha.
The temple was restored in 2013 but still retains its traditional, ancient charm. Within the temple grounds is a dedicated mausoleum for the fish god, with the god's remains in the center.

Notably, the Lang Hieu temple still preserves intact 6 royal decrees, many ritual objects, and statues from the time of King Canh Hung, year 44 (1784), and 89 whale tombs built over the years.
This is also a place for daily life, meetings, and important ceremonies for the people of Nghi Hai ward.
At the ceremony, representatives from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An province presented the Certificate of Recognition for the ranking of Lang Hieu Temple as a provincial-level historical relic. A fishing festival will be held at the temple in the early afternoon of the same day.
