The 2021-2022 Provincial Excellent Student Exam left many unforgettable emotions for each member of class 9A1, with 19 students winning awards, many of whom won in two subjects. For Lam Mai Vi, who won first prize in English, this was a joy and a source of pride because she never thought she would achieve excellent student status in a subject that wasn't her forte. Vi shared: “English is a unique and difficult subject to learn. To excel in this subject, I worked hard and diligently, especially in practicing my listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. When I was weak in speaking, I taught myself by recording myself and listening to correct my mistakes. This persistent practice helped me feel more confident when entering the exam room.”

The top achievement in this year's provincial-level gifted student competition for class 9A1 was the Math team, with all five participating students winning awards, including one first prize, two second prizes, and two third prizes. This result was achieved not only through their abilities, willpower, and determination, but also through the team spirit of each member. For Cao Khac Phan Quyen, the top scorer in Math, winning first prize in the 9th grade provincial-level gifted student competition this year is a very encouraging result in his academic journey. Besides excelling in Math, Quyen also excels in Physics and won second prize in the same competition.

Sharing her secret to excelling in Math, Quyen said: “In class, I always focus intensely on the teachers' lectures and memorize the basic knowledge in the textbook. If I don't understand something, I immediately ask the teacher and my classmates to fill in the gaps in my knowledge. At home, I dedicate a certain amount of time to studying Math, mainly using reference books and solving exam questions I haven't encountered before online.”

As the top student in Chemistry, Duong Quang Sang, also from class 9A1, believes this is the result of his hard work and the care of his teachers, especially his Chemistry teacher. Besides being an excellent student, Sang is also a diligent and filial son. At school and at home during holidays, he regularly helps his parents with household chores. His parents are farmers, so Sang's family faces many difficulties. The encouragement of his teachers and the expectations of his parents have helped Sang realize that only through education can he escape their difficult circumstances.

By diligently grasping and mastering the basic knowledge of the lessons in class, dedicating time to advanced exercises using the teacher's supplementary materials, and confidently asking the teacher questions anytime and anywhere, Sang accumulated sufficient knowledge and successfully passed the first challenge with a proud result.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Nguyet, Principal of Tra Lan Secondary School (Con Cuong), said: "This year, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the teachers and students of the school faced many difficulties in preparing for the exam. However, through their efforts to overcome these challenges, the teachers and students of the school achieved outstanding results in the recent exam. This achievement not only brings honor to the school and each individual student who won an award, but also creates motivation and inspires teachers and students throughout the school to continue striving for excellence in teaching and learning."
